Throttle spacer and DQS

Did the shop installed the hydraulic pressure switch for the clutch or the contact microswitch? It does make a huge difference to the ECU. I had the same issue on my 1199 with the pressure switch. installed the microswitch and problem went away.

The slack or lack of slack in the throttle is not detected by the ECU and really shouldn't matter.

No hydraulic pressure switch and No to microswitch.

With all the issue that I read in this forum, I decided to just start in Neutral.

So, you are also in agreement that DQS should not be affected?

I will start another thread just on DQS as I have no clue what is wrong. Thanks.

Just adding my 2c.

I've got both spacers installed and it is definitely more responsive, as I wanted it to be.

The other things some folks mentioned regarding riding style do apply. However, another technique I've carried over from racing and I think is extremely useful, is resting my index finger ON TOP of the front brake lever.

There isn't really a need to maintain a white knuckle grip on the throttle, and by placing that index finger on the top of the front brake, you are able to stabilize your wrist and keep the throttle input buttery smooth. Secondary to that, you already have a finger on the brake, which drastically reduces braking distances due to reaction times. This can be really great on track, but on the road it may save you from some serious road rash or worse..

If you're up for it, may be worth trying out on a ride or two.
