Alright smart people, how can I get rid of this stupid CEL? I have tuneboy and I guess I could mess around with that, but wouldn't it come back as soon as I turn the bike back on?

I am not even 100% sure what is causing it, I can only assume brake and headlight?

What have you guys done?

If you removed the headlights, it has an air sensor on it, which would obviously cause a CEL if removed. I noticed this when doing the LED headlight conversion and forgot to transfer that sensor from my base headlight to the LED. Put the sensor on the LED headlight and CEL was gone. Not sure how to disable that for track purpose/no headlight though.

That sensor is an air inlet temperature probe. Leave it plugged in after removing it from the headlight, preferably located some where in the path of air going into the airbox.

That would explain the wrong temp im getting on the dash then.

Hmm, I don't know if I remember what it was on the headlight though. Do you have a pic?

Thanks!

It goes in the air duct going into the air box, dead center behind gauges. If you are using a body kit that includes a fiberglass air duct you will drill a whole for the sensor and a small one for a self tapping screw on top of the duct. Location isn't super critical
