has anyone here fitted the aftermarket (standard gfk/cfk, that comes with the track fairings) bellypan with the stock exhaust system?

i read somewhere that it might only fit with the termignoni...

then,if I was to fit a turkeypan (some org's allow that), I'd have to squeeze it pretty much in between the motor and the exhaust cans. there's no way to take that thing off for tech... ???

taking off and mounting back the exhaust takes about an hour with the bolts being so ...... to reach.

so how to pass tech then?

that thing is pretty much stuffed up.

any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Are you talking about the fluid retention pan? If so if you search wit the title fluid retention pan you'll find a whole thread between Wilkes and me about the install and one of the few suck aspects of this bike.

The skinny is you have to remove the cans very time you want to install and uninstall it.

Good luck.

This issue is what caused me to upgrade the exhaust. I was I unable to find any bodywork belly pan to work with stock cans. Good luck with your search.

No retention pan will work with stock exhaust, there isn't enough room between the cans or the cans and the sump. You also usually have to lose the fan.

thanks guys, that was the info i've been looking for.

or not

well, seems i will be making my own pan soon...

Thanks for the effort Phil, i'm either going "turkey pan" or check one of the local paint/body shop for some fab work. I'm still going to do Corner Speed in April.

if i find time in between, i will continue to work on a DIY and cost effective solution - maybe a bit nicer and more durable than a turkey pan ;)

Maybe I will find an "Engineer Friend" that will create one for me"¦.hint, hint, hint:D

I have looked hard at it as we will be doing 3 or 4 endurance rounds on mine.
The cans are almost touching the sump and complete wrap around it. You could use some very thin aluminum and hammer it into shape. I had considered wrapping the cans and the sump in tin foil and laying up fiberglass them bolting cans on while it dried. Keep in mind the 'glass will be literally squeezed between them.
Over the next few weeks I will get some pics of the Armour Bodies pan and the cans I am building to address this issue.

I will be going through WERA Tech Inspection w/turkey pan as a belly pan this weekend. The pan is not coming out at all. I also have it safety wired on each corner.

More to follow!:D

Catalyst and Armor both offer fluid pans just buy one and modify it to fit? Our WSSK kit came with a Corse CF one that we have been using on the large manifolds. I was wondering which pan would work with the Akrapovic exhaust.

Do you have any pics of this? How did tech go with Wera?
