@Jolly Roger V4 Yeah man....trying to hit up the SoCal days, Oct will be hard but should be there Nov/Dec, we got a latte machine in Garage 8, c'mon by, would be good to meet some more forum members.

DB killers took care of the headache below 6k, something to be aware of if you want this exhaust for a road bike. My normal route goes by a lot of horse farms and it is very hard to get the noise down to a level not to scare any riders or their horses.

So far the engine braking is really impressing me. My 'R is a lot more simplistic, either smash the jewels off throttle (either a little or a lot using EBC 2/1) or make it feel like a 600 in EBC 3. Bouncing around between EBC 3 and 2 on the V4, can't wait to try level 2 on the track, minimal intervention when first letting off at higher RPM then drags more as the RPMs lower, perfect for getting down to the apex.

Very excited to try out the upper end of this engine!

Less chicken..less strip! That's about as far as I am comfortable on public roads, a lot of fun but massively excited to hit the track and really lock in on this thing.

My bike is passing through Barber on it's way to Chuckwallah....any forum members riding there after the AMA race on Monday 9/26? Never been there so will definitely need a tow.

As I goof around with some higher speeds on sweeping turns I am feeling the difference between my other bikes with forged rims and the stock V4 rims, a lot more pull on the bar to get her leaned over, will be interesting to compare it with my other rims, <100 miles until break in is done.

So happy not to have buyers remorse.

Back from Barber, new bike on a new track had me going pretty darn slow, but still had a huge smile at the end of the day. Looking forward to Chuck in November.

There was a previous post about bike cost and tracking, my other bikes are either used or almost 1/2 the cost of this thing, and boy oh boy was that in the back of my head! Overall opinion is still the V2-V4 cliche, it is so much easier to ride than the V2 for me. The way it builds speed is so smooth that braking zones become a top priority, you simply don't think you are carrying that much speed until the braking markers are rushing at you.

T1 and the kink at T10 were my favorite parts of Barber. Facility was amazing, but for anyone that likes Barber I think a trip to PittRace would be worth it, so far probably the best track I have been to and look forward to putting it on heavy rotation next summer.

ideally you want to be pushing on the inside bar not pulling.......
@andyb When you are right and I am wrong I need to acknowledge it. Pushing the inside bar has been way more effective this past weekend. This has been a step back winter for me, slowing down and getting some quality coaching from JP43, eliminating a lot of other schools’ questionable habits. A new body position focus and using the inside lever instead of the outside for counter steering has led me to more accuracy and consistency in hitting my markers.

Whoa boy Chuck was a .... show on Saturday, saw contact on track, and at least 8 red flags! JP43 started doing Friday schools for $500 and that was money well spent, only two groups, about 5-6 students per class with @7 instructors. Watching Corey and Andrew Lee do their magic is f'ing impressive. Doing a 2-up with Corey next time out...will bring extra underwear.

Rental bikes are booked for Feb, March/April still open.....do eeeeet!!

Rained Saturday night, took until @10:30am to dry out, a little sketch around pit out/pit in procedures but a good day other than that. I'll be back for SoCal in Feb, hope to connect for some lattes and a belly busting breakfast burrito!!!

When I was at NCM it was like that. So many red flags, especially in intermediate group. It got in my head and I stayed pretty chill because of it. I just focused on body position.
