Track mods anything I'm missing? (1199s)

I bought a Standard and upgraded suspension from there. The S model has a TTX36 rear so, the same thing we put on the racebike. Just change the spring. You can also switch the corded adjusters for manual via Ohlins.

The forks are solid, but the valving may need to be swapped for maybe the 30mm kit and different springs. But, unless you are racing, the stock stuff is REALLY good and shouldn't hold you back nor restrict your ability...

You did the rearsets. How about clip-ons. In the event of a crash, a $14 bar is easier to replace than the OEM ones. On the 520 kit, you really shouldn't ever need much more than a 39 or 40 rear. If you are not that high on corner speed, you can step that up, but the bike is tits at most tracks with a 39 or 40.

The ride height and front fork height are imperative to the handling on this bike. We have found a few numbers seem to work, but my riding style may differ from yours. I can send you those numbers to try and what I have found that works a bit.

I am running Brembo race pads or the Vesrah new XX pads. I will run different pads at different tracks. The Brembo race pads are about $100/card as well as the Vesrahs. But the Brembos are instant grab while the Vesrahs have a slight progression to them. Again, some tracks, I like the progression.

We also have a custom tuned ECU, but added a PC-V on top. Chad at Commonwealth got a really sharp map in there and it went from slight hesitation and really rich in the curve to spot on with throttle as well as a lot leaner and better fuel in the curve.

Tank grip!!! A must for me anyways... The tank is so damn narrow (good thing), that I need some grip to hold with my knees on hard braking. I am using wake board stuff that a lot of guys are trying now. Holds up great and a shout of color on the tank... Gotta also look cool, ya know!

Overall, this is becoming a great bike for me and I have felt I am adapting well with it. TJ at Ducati Milwaukee did the motor and it is very solid. The pull and the power places me right with the liter bikes. While they have a little more grunt on top, we are so damn close... Carr Moto set the suspension up and Matt Carr is a SUPER knowledgable suspension guy. Chad like I stated did the mapping. Overall, it is dialed and I like what we have. I could use a bit more and maybe at winter for tear down, we will do a few other tricks and get a little more...

If ya have any questions, shoot me a PM and I will get you my email and we can chat back and forth.

Try the link on "P"

Try the link on "P" if you ride on really bumpy roads, curvy or otherwise. It makes a big improvement since the suspension compliance on initial compression allows for better (and longer duration) tire contact during high frequency bumps.

I for one, have changed the springs both front and rear. One step softer on one side only forks, and 2 steps softer on the shock. My 2012 Tri was violently stiff over bumps. Along with softening the shock compression to fully open (softest setting, #31), and slightly reducing fork compression to #25, it finally seems to be tracking reasonably well over bumps. I am tempted to have the compression damping modified to allow further testing at even softer settings, and possibly one step softer still on the rear spring. This is all surprising to me in that I weigh 190 pounds, and would have thought the shock would be closer from the factory. I run the link on flat, as that is what is proper for a one-up bike used for canyons. The reference earlier to the "junk Ohlins" shock - could you be expand on that regarding why you rate it as such? Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know what the total cost was. I'd like to compare it to just buying an R model and begin done with it.

At this point I'm feeling pretty good about the bike. I'm mainly talking about feel improving mods.

Mods so far:
Hotbodies fairings
DP rearsets in GP shift set to shortest shift setting
520 conversion aem mag carrier/titanium cush drive 15/41
DP clutch and brake levers adjusted for easy 1 finger pull (I use a wide grip only half my hand is on the grips usually)
DP quick access gas cap (the stock lock is a Pita)
Cox radiator guards
Tank grip pads
Mwr filter is coming as soon as I locate a used termi full system for a good price (I think 2k or less)
Sliders all over the place/sato hooks for transport
DDS/GPS lap timer
I may not go exhaust and just get the most badass rear shock I can afford. Still mulling that over. Also I'm having trouble easily seeing the TFT screen in the Texas sun sometimes....

Seeing that Hotbodies does not currently have 1199 race fairings, whats your next choice?

It was armor bodies. I just typoed. They held up well in the crash I had. Can't say the same about the 1199s though :/

Lowside down a hill. Made a wide pass which affected the negative camber I normally experience there. Bike slid out from under me then flipped. Bike is a total loss.

Sorry to hear that. Did you post this somewhere? did I miss it. Gald your okay. Think you'll be going 1199 again?
