Picked up my Tricolore 2 days ago and I knew that the Termi exhaust was going to be separately fitted, but I didn't realize that it's not supposed to be fitted until after the 1000km running in? If this is the case, why am I seeing so many Tricolore's here with the Termi's fitted before run-in?

Everybody has their opinions on what to do, some put them on before some after. I have always done my run ins by the book since 78 and never had problems with my bikes.
Do your run in then while it is in at the dealer for the first service then do all the upgrades seems a good thing, but really it is up to you on what you think is better or prefer.

I would be interested to hear the difference, as I only waited 2-rides before changing them ...... but then my stock cans did have a whacking great f$&cking dent in them from the factory

I have my Termis on the bike from day 1. I love them. They are pretty loud, but not as loud as the open Termis on my wifes Monster 1100 EVO though.

If you want the best torque/power gains then just fit the slip on cans and return the header pipes to the dealer. Then buy the Rapidbike unit from Austin Racing with the pre set map and you will have the best there is currently available. The full system loses torque against the standard headers in the midrange, just where you want it. If you do fit the full system then do not use the up map as its rubbish and far too rich.

Yeah that's what i was told since it's over the db rating. If you pay them to put it on then it's your decision and they will take your $$$.
I put my termis on. I'll just say that it came with the bike... which is technically true if the pigs pull me over and ask me about my exhaust (which hasn't happened yet mind you). I've got about 1500km on the clock.
put them on and hope the pigs leave you alone.

Cops had a good look at my termis at the weekend when I pulled up beside them.... All that came out there mouth was drool
