Damn cagers! that sux...

On a side note, are you sure you didn't get imitation full sys termi? lol that sounds like a broken lawn mower :D

It looks like the cyclist was either trying to signal truck or motorcycle. So maybe the cyclist isn't a ....... and someone else is. Yes I ride bicycles too.

We have the same issue on our port hills in CHCH with cyclists and cars passing them. Nimrods that don't have any spacial recognition of the width of their vehicle and require giving another car width between them and the cyclist. That could have ended in tears very easily for you, people like that should not be allowed to drive!!!!!

i ride cycles too, but some are ............ espshuly when it comes to motorcycles.

this is the kind of .... right there that makes me not want to ride on the street ever again! consider yourself lucky this time...and the bicyclists in LA pissed me off so badly on a regular basis, both as driver and rider...

We (meaning bikes and cycles) share a mountain road that is the best stretch of 18 miles of twisties within a half hour from my home. We get along since we respect each other and most of the cyclists are appreciative when we don't scare the .... out of them by getting to close.

Can't say I blame the truck too much, he probably couldn't see anything around that corner and was just passing the cyclists.

So, it's okay then to cross the double yellow line around a blind corner...as long as you don't see anything

Your video seems like a normal, if somewhat dangerous pass to me.

RE: Lane Sharing
Whenever I see a cyclist oncoming I always take the right side of the lane, because I expect the oncoming traffic to attempt to give the cyclist room as they pass. If cyclists are on both sides I slow and pass when it is safe to do so. The truck in the video could have waited until you passed before overtaking the last cyclists. Similar case: Today I slowed to a crawl as two girls riding horses were approaching, so as not to scare/startle the horses. Afterward, it was back to WOT. Hopefully cars overtaking them would do the same. I always stay in the middle of the lane going over blind crests for the same reason, since you never know what is coming over the other side. In Greece cars/bikes pass down the center line in both directions, it is slightly insane, but after awhile you get use to it.

RE: Those Evil Bicyclists
Riding a human powered bike everyday for many years gave me a better foundation to be able to ride a motor powered which is heavier and can go faster. Since drivers can't hear you on your bicycle you have to plan well in advance in order to power out of dangerous situations, no twist of the throttle. Unlike motorbiking, bike riding strategy changes depending on the riders energy level through out the ride. The difference between the two is one of degree, not kind. It wasn't uncommon for me to go between 80-100 kph on a bicycle. At those speeds it would be difficult to ride on the sidewalk safely. :)

Yeah, if anyone here was driving that truck, I bet 99% of them would have done the same thing. Nobody expects a bike to come flying around the corner.

I hear ya, they do that here all the time too. Just pisses me off.

So that makes it ok to cross over when you cannot see whats coming. Glad you and I drive/ride in different countries.

Cyclist hear also. I don't see a problem as this is to be expected. We all share the road and don't own it. They have the same right so learn to share and beware. It seemed as though the truck was only giving some room when you showed up and should be expected if you know that cyclist are in this area.

I have about 50K miles on the road on bicycles and share the same problem that I do on my motorbike. I find that on the motorcycle I have options I don't have on a bicycle so show some respect.

I didn't say it was okay, I'm saying put yourself in the truck's shoes, where the .... was he supposed to go? It's also not okay for bikes to be flying around on public roads, but we do that do we not?

The real .... up here are the cyclists, it never ends with the ....... cyclists. They have more rights than vehicles where I live, and they're not licensed or insured to be on the road.
