Trying to choose, 848 Evo or 1198 Panigale?

Hi all. New to the forum and hopefully future Ducati owner. I currently ride a Hayabusa. I’m trying to choose between a 2013 848 evo that is bone stock. It has 7000 miles on the clock. Dealer is asking 7999$. It is the black model. The other is a 2011 1198 red. Bike has 8500 miles on it and has had the 7500 mile service done. Dealer is asking 8299$. I don’t do much track riding. (Closest track is a few hours away) The Busa is a great bike, but I want to have a Ducati supersport (bike) before I get too old! Any thoughts on the deals that I have. Most of my riding would be daily commuter and weekend back roads.
Thank you

1198. The 7500 mile service component is very compelling.

The busa is a very different bike. See if you can test ride before buying.

Darn auto correct! Evo not ego!! The 1198 also has Leo Vince pipes. Don’t know if they are slip ons or full system. Yes, the Ducatis are totally different I’m sure, from riding position, to fueling to the seating position. I mentioned the Busa, because I’m used to a powerful, fast bike that doesn’t have any of the electronic safety features except abs. I wish I could test ride, but both bikes are several hrs away.
Thank you for reply.

The 7.5K service is probably $1K. The 1,500 mile difference between the two is near meaningless.

At the end of the day, when you open the garage door, buy what you want to be there.

I’m leaning towards the 1198. The 7500 mile service being done is huge. They are both gorgeous bikes. Oh well. Eeny meeny miney mo!!

Coming from a busa, you might find the ~120 whp/60 lbs-ft motor in the 848 a little flat. The ~145 whp/85 lbs-ft motor in the 1198 might be more satisfying for you.
