Decided to change oil/filter after 6820mi on her. It's been jumping out of 2nd gear while I was accelerating many time so I think it's time for new oil/filter change ever though it's short of 7500mi.

After draining and pulling out filter cap, I found broken unidentified foreign object (UFO) and it looks like little plastic type material.

Does any one have seen this before? and where could have come from?

There was a thread a while back when someone else found these. The consensus was that they were of no harm. Try searching for it. I think it is an assembly tab or something.

And the best way to keep it from slipping out of 2nd is to shift like a man ;)

Thx Getdowngetfunky!

Not sure if I can shift any harder when my is GP shifting pattern. Like I said it went in and jumped out many time but most of the time it stays in.

As above I've seen these tabs when my friend changed oil. I didn't see them on my bike but I wouldn't be concerned.

Jumping out of 2nd is a bit of a worry but are you sure you are not perhaps letting off the throttle or doing something like that as that gives these results? If it's just happening once in a while then it's fairly normal I would say, albeit normally a result of letting off the throttle when gear changing without realising.

Stop riding it so hard! BE gentle.. It is like a woman You have to be smooth yet firm when you shift her... LOL

Check the length of your shift rod if you've modified it or your rearsets.

I think there's a particular tolerance on the eye to eye length on that part and if it's short you're liable to either have to use excessive force, end up with partial engagement, or failure to engage at all.

Its a Ducati. If there is an excessive amount of engine material it means one thing. The motor has actually fired and has remained running long enough to allow you to experience their excellent metallurgy. If you did not have the systematic self destruction of internal engine material they you may have purchased a fake Ducati. Sounds like you have the real deal. Enjoy
