I don't remember where I read it, or who it was by, but they received an email from UpMap stating all they do is turn off the warning for the 02s, not disable them. Which would lead me to believe they also don't program the map to account for them.

If that is the case, the ECU will constantly adjust for the O2 readings somewhat negating the map. Unplugging them, of course, would stop that adjustment and let it run as UpMap programmed

Well ...., ok. It installed without having to disconnect them, so I foolishly assumed the map would take over and still utilize the lambdas for optimization.

the o2 sensors on our bike are narrow band they do not optimize, they mess up throttle response and power delivery. They work in a range that is too lean for what we want and ensure the air fuel is not where we want it

unplug em!!

That makes sense. Thanks for the response.

I’ll go unhook them, and hopefully have an improved opinion of the Upmap afterward!

What do you do with the sensors/cables, once you remove them? Also, do the holes for the sensors remain open/unplugged or something need to plug the holes?

the sensors can remain in the exhaust just unplug them from the harness.

I usually cut the wires flush on the o2 sensor side of the plug and then plug it back in to act just as a blanking plug

I would buy something like that if you made them. I don’t want to cut my wires, but I’d love “caps” for my plugs. If I’m not mistaken, no business is currently selling anything like this.

Connector plugs aren't special, they're just generic.

your not cutting wires that are in the harness, its the plug thats on the other end of the o2 sensor. your not going to use it again so I cant see how in any way your messing up anything.

What are you guys doing when you take your bike in for a service? Do you upload your oem mapping and plug in your 02 sensors or are you bringing your bike into the dealer with the T-800 mapping and the 02 sensors unplugged?

Very good question... I asked my dealer / service agent a few months ago after installing the UpMap and he was reluctant to give a straight answer. He said that if I do not bring the bike in as OEM he will not be able to connect to the bike, do official Ducati updates and probably not sign off on the official Ducati "database". My service is in about 6 weeks... I guess one may have to load the OEM map to get an official service report... which will also be important when you want to sell the bike...

I kept the upmap installed and my dealer asked if I had a tune installed. He said “I have a question and there is no wrong answer. Do you have a tune on your bike?’

After this question popped up I called my dealer/service agent and again had an open discussion. He said I can leave the UpMap MTorque installed - he will do the "normal" service - no questions asked! He is not opposed to the UpMap map as it does make the bike run a bit richer, which he says is "good". The only issue is that he will not be able to install Ducati software updates. So it seems OK for me. Is there any recent SF V4 updates for the 2020 models?? (I have not seen any....)

I’m approaching 7500 miles so I’ll ask my local dealer about whether I should revert back to my stock map and plug my 02 sensors. I’m going to get the 7,500ish notice on my dash, right?

If you were in a foreign state would you take your pot out of your pocket and ask a cop if it were against the law there?

7440 or thereabouts

Problem is that it is very obvious to the service agent that the bike is not OEM once the Ducati dongle is plugged in... So better to discuss beforehand.
