The T-800 took care of a lot of the unevenness for me. It feels much better. I never experienced a problem with the cylinder switching off and cannot say I ever noticed it. I know it only does so when the temps are high but when starting off I tend to give the throttle a blip which would activate it if it were shut off. I think if you even release the brakes it will reactivate in anticipation of moving.
Exactly as you say... you have to blip the throttle... and even then it does not return to normal wake-up mode... it takes a second or so.

The rear cylinders reactivate when you let the clutch out a small amount or when you hit the throttle.

Not to knock anyone's riding prowess or style, but unless you are taking off like your in a race, it shouldn't take much to get used to. If you are in a race, just leave the clutch out to just before the engagement point and the cylinders will not deactivate. At stop lights, I have the habit of moving the clutch lever small amounts in & out to keep the cylinders active.

After 55 years on all sorts of bikes and just over a million km done I am now nearly ready to say I know how to take off with a bike... and yes it is what Ducati says about the "moving the clutch lever small amounts" - however it is just a plaster from Ducati instead of fixing their design problem IMHO....

Not to quote my own post but, I had a thought. I was watching YouTube and a YouTube'er with several Ducati bikes (over a few different videos) getting the Akra map flashed by Ducati Santa Barbra with the bike very obviously having the mirrors, no lights taped off, no blinker fuse removal or trailer to the dealer nonsense. So that .... is ok, but I have to jump through a bunch of BS hoops. Keep in mind YouTube guy even has a CA tag in the videos, so its obviously a road bike.

I don't want to say F*** Ducati but, I almost want to trade in for a BMW or a R1M out of spite.

This .... is annoying AF. Either the rules apply to everyone or we all just agree the rules are hot trash and disregard them. Then my dealer says they'd flash my bike with a signed waiver if they would have installed it. So I would have had to pay their price with sales tax on a $5k exhaust(!) plus a $1k install fee. That's a pretty ...... paywall they created.

I had my Akra installed by dealer prior to purchase/delivery...they required I sign the release. They also said if I ever bring in bike for service, they would have to load it their van, take a picture, to keep on file that bike was trailered in. It boils down to a lot of legal BS, but I have a good relationship with my Ducati dealer (bought multiple bikes from them) so they work with me on this kind of BS. I would suggest that you might contact another dealer, or do an aftermarket flash/tune. There are always work arounds to this kind of stuff. Good luck.

Meanwhile there are many examples of Ducati dealerships on YouTube flashing Akra maps on bikes that have license plates that are ridden into the dealer.

No, the only reason to do so is if you want the data logging features. If I were doing a track day I probably would.

I bought and installed the Termi no-dB killer Mtorque map. Holy ..... What a difference. The power is insane. I always had this feeling before that I was turning the throttle a lot more than necessary, that I was using more throttle than I should be or that the output didn't match how much I was twisting it. That's gone. Power is immediate and immense.

On a side note, I was looking at a BWM S 1000 RR and noticed the throttle had zero play in it at all unlike the Ducati. Does BMW insert some electronic free play or is it direct?

Yeah the Mtorque map is a must have. if you haven’t added the throttle spacer kit it’s a big difference

How do you like the termi exhaust I am trying to decide between that and the arrow full titanium. I am not 100% sold on the looks of either. Can you comment on the volume above the stock exhaust with and without the dB killers. Can you post some pictures?

Thanks!

I have a full Akrapovic system installed. I had to use the Termi map because that's what I figured would match the best until Termi released a Akrapovic map for T-800 users.

On volume...the V4 and this bike by nature suffer from the same problem. The way the exhaust is positioned makes it seem very loud to the rider and its made worse with full face helmets. Harley riders with a skull cap helmet never notice their straight pipes but my bike with the Akra and no baffles and a Shoei GT-Air is almost painful. But, I rode up my street to turn around without a helmet and it was comfortable. To that end, I think if noise is a concern, ear plugs are the way forward.

Thanks for your insight. I began wearing ear plugs for the first time just after picking her up, and I’m on stock exhaust. I’m fine with it. I just don’t want it to get much more invasive.

I have the same set up and it was God awful loud. I installed the baffling and it’s definitely much better. I’d rather not have to use them but it’s too much even with my ear buds in.

Wow, yea I don’t want to do that to my bike, I’ll never want to ride it then. I wonder if the termi slip on is any quieter with the two smaller exits in the mufflers.

hi everyone
here is link to short clip of my sfv4 with full akro system and ducati mapping on jhs dyno doing 6th gear pull from low speed to show no hesitation through the revs,, she makes 192 rwhp.
i had full system fitted from new by my excellent local dealer.
I have been looking at the t800 and mtorque map to unlock lower down restrictions which are all still there with the ducati map but there is no flat spots with ducati map just factory restrictive settings that do need to come off so thanks to all you folks for sharing your experiences with the t800 that looks like it will be my next purchase to unlock its full potential.

Images of the HP & TQ curves as well as the AF would be nice

Upmap ordered from Vcyclenut. I also ordered the throttle spacer kit somefun mentioned. Watched a few YouTube videos about it, curious to drive the bike with these two mods!!

I have the full Akra as well and have had a similar experience.

It sounds great. And while it is loud, when I see other people riding it it honestly doesn't seem as loud as bikes I've heard with Austin Racing pipes, which are wicked loud. Nevertheless, the full Akra causes me a lot of problems whereas the full Termi system on my Monster 1200S was perfect. I don't know if it's the specific frequency or the positioning of the pipes or what, but I've learned the hard way to wear earplugs on every ride. I noticed it right away, as after I rode it home I had a persistent ringing in my right ear for about half a day. I started wearing earplugs but forgot to put them in on a ride about a week ago, and again that resulted in some pretty annoying issues with my right ear. I wear a Shoei X-14, but just as you said that almost seems to make it worse.

I really enjoy the V4SF, but I have to be honest and admit there are times I wish I still had my Monster or had gotten a Pikes Peak Multi. The Monster always sounded massive, it had a boatload of low-end torque, and it never hurt my ears.

For me, part of the problem is I've heard the V4SF with lesser exhausts and, unlike a twin, I just don't think it sounds that great unless it has a full system on it. And with a full system on it, it draws a LOT of attention and can be harmful to your hearing.

Put the baffling in and it’s much better
