Hey, has anyone done their V2 First Service themselves? I just picked up my 2022 V2 a couple of weeks ago and am already at 220 miles. The reason I am asking is that I can perform the mechanical side myself but I cannot reset the service light yet because I don't know what I should get tool-wise for it. (nearest Ducati dealer requires me to ship the bike 400 miles by boat) Have any of yall reset the service light yourself if so what tool did you use?

No I had first service done at Ducati, also be aware the annual service light, kilometre/miles, will pop up 30 days prior, as I've just found out.

I did my 2021 V4S first service at the dealer. I won't be going back. They over filled the oil by about a quart and my QS doesn't work down most of the time.

This will do I think just about everything the dealer can do sans software updates. Which is a mixed bag. If there's a problem you are trying to solve and the software update specifically is for said problem, then update. Otherwise don't. The device is $400 sure, but the first service is over $300.

Every trip to the dealer is over $900 because I have to ship it (I’m in Hawaii nearest Dealer is 200 miles away and has to be shipped). I would gladly buy a tool like this if anyone can confirm that it works properly.

Other guys here have used it, and I'll leave it to them to chime in. I bought one and will post a full review when it arrives, probably a week or so.

ETA: What plug under the seat does your bike have? If its a red 6-pin there's an OBD-II to 6-pin adapter (Euro 5...even though its not a true Euro 5 spec...) you have to buy. If its a flat 4-pin you're fine.

Or you could just leave the lights on. I have 2500 miles on my V2 and the light is still on. I don't really notice it anymore, LOL. My XDiavel has both the service and annual light glowing. One of these days I'll flash the bikes back to stock, take them to the dealer to have the lights reset, then re-flash. Black electrical tape also works to reset the lights. ;)

I’ve considered this but I want this to be my only vehicle with no extra lights lol. All of my cars and other motorcycles has a lot of lights on (Cars r sh*t boxes with Frankenstein parts) motorcycles r cuz of exhaust servos and other stuff like that.

I feel your pain re shipping the bike to Ducati for its first service....something to note though - the V2 has a "running in" ECU map - which is then changed at the first service.

I was told that the break in map automatically disables after the service interval is reset. Is that not the case?

Not sure. It might do - but how do you reset the service interval? I have yet to find a tool that I can use that will do it.

Some people say the OBD Star tool works from Ali Express. I just bought a Texa TXB and IDC5 Software from CEAS. They write the factory software for Ducati but they are mandated to be a year behind the official DDS 2.0 tool.

Oh! That's interesting. Let us know how that goes.

What was the total cost for the tool and software?

My 2021 V2 had a run-in map that prevented me from doing wheelies, even with everything turned off (TC, DWC,...). At just past 600 miles (620?), the map auto-changed and allowed full wheelies. I know this because a grabbed a hand full of throttle at a stoplight (like I had done a million times before and expected the normal 6-inch wheelie) that had just turned green and I about looped it! Crazy Ducati just changes the map on the fly without letting the customer know, especially when it affects wheelie control! The bike will feel much better after that first service light comes on. My dealer has never touched the bike since taking delivery at 0 miles.

You reset the service light or leave it on? And that’s crazy!

It is still glowing nice and red. I will have the dealer clear it sometime this spring when I get around to stopping by. I really just ignore it (and the light on my XDiavel). I can reset my 2020 cafe racer light with my REXXER handheld, but I can't do anything about the V2 or XD.

The funny thing was that, after checking the fork seals for leaks due to panic rear brake action slamming down the front end, I made a Jesus Christ comment over the headset to my wife (on her R3) and she didn't know what I was talking about. Uh, did you not notice the nooner I just pulled right next to you??? She forgot I was on the V2 (that wasn't able to pull wheelies previously) and thought I was just slamming down a bad wheelie, LOL.
