Hi all,

Planning on purchasing a slip-on from SBK, now having in mind that it's just a slip-on, not a full system do I need to tune the bike after installation? If I don't will I see any issues with how it runs etc.?

Thanks all!

The consensus here—IIRC—is that slip ons don’t require a tune/mapping.

Yes, I suggest the SLR Tuning map. Of course you can choose a tune/map from any company but you should definitely get one since your bike will be running lean. Beyond a proper fuel map there are a number of other benefits to a map/tune

So how does it work with SLR Tuning, can you lead me to what exactly I need to purchase and how to get a proper tune for my specific bike set up?

Below is a link to SLR Tuning, you have a choice of sending in your ECU to get flashed or you can purchase a handheld programmer to flash your ECU and also be able to read and clear any fault codes. You can also switch back to the stock mapping if wanting/needing to. Click on both choices to read a bit on what kind of benefits you’ll get with an SLR Tuning map. Then call or write Frank with any further questions you may have. Tell him Scott with the V2 referred you to him, he will be happy to help you out.

Here is a link to a previous post I made with a quick explanation of what you can expect from the SLR Tuning map
SBK Exhaust- I’m not desperate but damn

Thanks for all this! By the way, the tunes are already in the programmer or I need to send them data back so they can adjust?

I'm running an SBK slip on and a sprint filter and my bike is currently at BrenTuning for a bit for some dyno tuning that will be available to the public in about 2 weeks from now.
