do you think it was a lack of communication between the service writer and the tech?

any time a vehicles computer is reset, the long and short term trims need a bit of time to get to where they need to be. i live at 1700' so normal long term trims are -15 % to -20% on good fuel. it takes a certain number of drive cycles to accomplish this.

The reflash at the first service seemed to make the the lower engine speeds a bit lumpy but no stalling. 400 miles later, the lumpyness has subsided.

Honestly, I don't rhink there was communication errors. I called 2 weeks before to schedule the appointment with the service details and I spoke with the mechanic the day of service. Ill definately be compensated for the work I paid for but just frustrating to have them cut corners.

Main thing for me was not ruining the hard work in paint protectant that did couple weeks ago. For that I am happy.

I don't really know what happened with the first service as they didn't really say much besides it was done gave me a receipt, keys and went back to the maintenance area.

I have a huge issue with professionalism in this state. In my town people usually act like its an inconvenience to provide a service to anybody. I attempted to email all week in regards to my concerns about the front brakes and if the bike was upload flashed or not.

As for the lumpyness I feel it in first and 2nd gear sub 30mph. Not a big deal because of my R1 I got use to the cut in and outs. I do hope for the bike to get more broken in with my aggressive riding style.

I happened on these adapters but I need to see if they are the right ones for both the anodized and plastic reservoirs . Motive type bleeders make bleeding a breeze 99% of the time.

Hi Everyone,
Checking-in from Bay Area, California.
Got my V2 back in May and I am on 990miles as of now. Break-in service done. Absolutely, loving it.

THE WEIRD ISSUE
In May end, I got rear-ended while standing at a red-light. The rear sub frame was busted and so was the tail lamp and the whole rear assembly.
Thankfully the repair was covered by the insurance (had to wait for a month for the repairs and the wait was painful).
But after I got it back, I spotted this thing below the tail lamp.

As you can see in the pictures, the black frame is glued to the tail lamp by a double sided tape and it is coming off.

Question 1: Is it how it is supposed to be? glued using a double sided 3M tape? or did the Ducati service did a half-assed job?

Question 2: Have any of you guys had the same issue?

I brought this to the attention of the service tech and he put a new tape which is again coming off.

Thanks

I don’t know about double sided tape, but there definitely should be no gap in that area

Yours looks perfectly flushed with no gap. Definitely there is no double sided tape there.

Seems like they did a half-assed job on my motorcycle. Not Good.

Very not good. See if they can make it right and do it while you wait there... downtime is also very not good when you buy a brand new vehicle

if u look closely, I modified my NRC fender eliminator to tuck into that rubber pouch like the factory whale tail license plate holder. I didn’t think it would be trustworthy mouthing with 2 bolts and nothing else

Thanks @DucatiKev & @That_Guy for sharing the pictures.

I will surely get back to them and ask for the real fix. I am so sad that, after charging all that crazy money for service and labour, they did this to me.
I even laughingly asked them if this is how the two pieces are joined on this expensive motorcycle. They said, yes it is joined using a double sided tape.

Sorry to hear about those issues. Sad that customer service has gone downhill across the board with many companies these days but that is pretty bad to let that go out of the dealership. Good luck to getting it fixed like it should be

Have you had the plastics off your bike yet? It comes apart and goes back together very nicely. I’m not daring enough to say that it’s perfect, but the panel gaps are always perfect when I’m done reinstalling the body.

lol...you made me go look. no tape on mine and it does have a gap on one side. it might have a lot to do with tightening the piss out of tail bag straps.

what was that line from cannonball? ..'it's Italian, what's behind you doesn't matter'
