I ended up going with domino grips they definately aren't softer than the stock ones. But they do look nice.

such a great machine. foggy and 54 degrees on foothills. heated grips are in my future.
i dropped the rear 2 psi before heading out for good measure. another 1/4 less compression and a half turn more rebound. super nice mid corner.
