Any way you slice it MM deserved the Championship, anyone who will risk throwing it away with the title on the line is a REAL RACER, the kid has X's for eyes when he's on the bike. He is on kill 100% of the time.

this is tailor made for the valeban and becomes the perfect outcome.

1 they can claim they wanted dovi to win (they didnt becuase their guy cried for 2 years on the ducati).

2 can claim MM was helped by jorge which he wasnt.

MM gave away 75 points this year and still won by more than 30 think about that for a second.

Dovi and Jorge knows better than the guys in the garage. I trust Dovi when he says he was over the limit and when he says Jorge was maling hum faster.

Yes, to the TV viewers and the Garage it looked like Dovi was being held up but that's not on the track is it? I think it looked like Dovi was being held up because he closed on Lorenzo at the apex of corners, but I think this is just their different riding styles and Lorenzo has had to adopt the point and shoot style rather than his carrying corner speed style. This looks like the following bike closes very quickly in a corner making it look like he is in the way.

Maybe?

Cheers

Did Rossi and Vinales even grid up for this race? Didn't see them once.

Can't believe Zarco doesn't get a factory seat after this rookie year. Yamaha better be smart or they will lose him to KTM or Honda in 2019.

Does Zarco have last year yamaha? I think he does.

Vinales and Rossi really struggled last half of the season. Hell...I thought Vinales had a chance to win a championship this year.

You are right on point with Zarco and not losing him in 2019.

So, if both Factory Yamaha riders were competitive all season, it is interesting to think about if Ducati Team/Dovi would have done as good as they did and Marquez not have a big points advantage.

I heard they were on identical chassis in Valencia. True or not? Because if it is true....

And yeah, Vinales was my pick for the title before Qatar race start. Boy was I wrong!

For sure if Vinales and Rossi had better form they could have interfered a bit more with Dovi, but let's not take anything away from him. The wins he did have were well deserved, especially those last corner battles against Marc.

For sure. Not taking anything away from Dovi. Just interesting to think about.

More importantly, if Yamaha get their .... together next year, I hope Dovi do good again and win a championship.

Won't be surprised if Lorenzo finishes ahead of Dovi next year. JLo came a long way on that bike this season and if Ducati can sort out some of the bike's remaining weaknesses he will be a contender.

All of that said -- MM has to be the favorite for now. Rossi is too old. Vinales won't get the development support. Pedro is too short. Zarco is on old machinery. Dovi is not consistent enough, etc. etc....

2019/2020 will be interesting years with younger guys stepping up to MotoGP and current satellite riders jumping on factory rides. We will probably see Rossi and Pedro both retire by 2020 and the entire grid will be re-shuffled. KTM could be reaching their goals and who knows what MM will have between his legs by then. He will have to swap manufacturers at some point just like Rossi and Jlo did in order to really cement his greatness.

This is the MM era, like it or not.

johan was on the 2016 M1. the factory yamaha were on identical new chasis. i cant confirm that for sure but nick harris said a few times that he cant believe johan was on a 2016 bike.... funny how 2016 bike was Jorge's bike lots of his input. 2017 well we know who yamaha is listening too and it wasnt the guy winning the races and having blistering times in the beginning of the season. maybe just a coincidence maybe not.

Here’s some homework. Learn this. There will be a test.

Suggest Mapping One – Lose a Tear-Off. It Might Help You See
Suggest Mapping Two – Come Back Into The Pits So I Can Slap You.
Suggest Mapping Three – Marquez Is Winning Again. Just Finish The Race Without Crashing
Suggest Mapping Four – Stop Mashing Your Fist Against The Dash. There Is No Map Four. It’s Code For Stop Mashing Your Fist Against The Dash.
Suggest Mapping Five – Try To Pass Someone. Anyone. Even Rabat Will Do At This Stage.
Suggest Mapping Six – Why Are You Waving At The Crowd? There’s Six Laps Left To Go.
Suggest Mapping Seven – You’re Going The Wrong Way.
Suggest Mapping Eight – Get Out Of the Way You Embarrassingly Slow Arsepigeon.

his is the difference between the Pedrosa, JL & Dovi all throughout the race. The lap on which JL crashed he was under two tenths of a second to Pedrosa. Lorenzo took out 4 tenths of a second out of Pedrosa on that lap and DOvi was unable to follow!

Dovi used up his front tire trying to get around his team mate early on, to me it looks like the Ducati's are dealing with a high center of gravity. It explains a lot excellent straight line grip off the corner, and a reluctance to change directions.

Vinales was fastest on the first day of testing, 2016 chassis, 2018 motor. Zarco on the 2017 bike.
