If you know what you’re ordering and a return isn’t likely, order from overseas. The $425 water pump is around $260.
Get it while the getting’s good. Don’t be surprised if the de minimis customs duty exemption goes bye bye under a certain orange turd. He seems to be tariffing anything and everythingIf you know what you’re ordering and a return isn’t likely, order from overseas. The $425 water pump is around $260.
Thanks. Any particular sources? If you know what you’re ordering and a return isn’t likely, order from overseas. The $425 water pump is around $260.
When the clutch is in place you can lock up that gear train thru the trans/brake. The idler is on a eccentric and needs to be put such there is equal lash between the idler and the other 2 gears. Leave it alone and when you change the pump retain the original gear and hopefully everything is still aligned. If the backlash between the pump gear and the pump drive gear on the idler is the same as before you disassembled everything should be ok. The seal that seals the transition from the outer cases oil feed to the rod feed in the crank should be changed every time that covers off IMHO.I didn't get a photo with the tools installed, but they sit in the gear cog. In short it prevents the gears from pushing against each other during tightening/loosening, and they also make sure the cogs are properly aligned when setting the assembled water pump back in place. Another thing to look for on the dry clutch is the main oil seal, ensure the small spring stays on it as it goes back over the clutch hub (where the clutch basket bolt holes are at)

If you don’t think Trump will try to plug this loophole or implement reciprocal tariffs, I’ve got some Melaniacoin to sell you. EU is planning to tariff US motorcycles so it’s only time… Also if that water pump is manufactured in China, it’s subject to tariff even if it passes through the EUUnless you're buying water pumps on Temu or Ali Express it's nothing to piss and moan about.
Dude, f’n stop already. No one cares. It’s going to be a long four years if you don’t get off this piss and moan, doom and gloom news cycle.
A man can never have enough guns, motorcycles, hats and clamps. Did I miss something? I wonder who on here is the best armed. I be having me a few guns.@BP PanigaleV4S Not a wannabe moderator at all (yeah, I saw your deleted post). I just don't like to mix politics and motorcycles. Now, If you want to talk about guns, that's different!
That waterpump is pretty funny.
Outside of the lounge they say take it to the lounge, inside the lounge they say it's a Ducati forum. The forum police need an ops plan.I just don't like to mix politics and motorcycles.
Yes. But you can loosely assemble the clutch back on and disassemble the rest after the covers off. At this point I've only been forced to buy one Ducati tool for disassembly and that's the puller for the alternator rotor.@BP PanigaleV4S you're probably the only person on this forum that mentions alibaba or temu. So it's safe to assume you probably have some garbage installed on your bike, and we'd like to quit hearing about those references
If you want a reputable source from overseas, look at motorcyclespareparts.eu
They have all the OEM part numbers and tools you'd need
@baggerman you're correct with the clutch still being engaged to lock the gear, but you still have to pull the clutch bowl to actually remove the engine cover right? I think the bowl is layered over the engine cover

You're more of a mouth breather than I first thought. In the context those things were mentioned is not at all indicative I've installed chinesium parts on my bike. Quite the opposite.@BP PanigaleV4S you're probably the only person on this forum that mentions alibaba or temu. I went in and plugged a in rod bearing half shell part # and they're about the same as Ducati pricewise. I'll try part #'s for some bigger stuff.@BP PanigaleV4S you're probably the only person on this forum that mentions alibaba or temu.
