just talked to my credit union and my bank draft expires Saturday for my loan. i was originally told that i could extend it an addition 30 days before i had to re-apply for the loan, but today found out that that wasn't the case. I don't feel like going through the process all over again, driving 30 miles to pick up another draft, then still having to wait for a bike. I have until Saturday to get a VIN to sign over the draft to the dealer. If not i'm just going to decide between a streetfighter 848, 848 evo, or Aprilia Rsv4. Hopefully i hear some good news tomorrow if not i'm changing rides. ride safe

Don't do it dude.... you will regret it. What's a 30 mile drive in the overall scope of it all? If it's that big of a deal, use another bank.. There are many banks that will do things via fax or email... I'm gonna put $10K down on mine and finance the rest through a credit union and will never even have to go to the bank to make it happen.

Plus, a "re-apply" doesn't take any work at all..

Well if you do .. in most head to head matches I've seen (namely the European shootout) they stated that the Aprilia is about even kill with the Panigale on street and track although the Duc is lighter but it's more expensive PLUS they gave it negative marks for low-range hp and the extreme heat it puts out and extremely hard seat ... we hate to see you go but try the Aprilia. I think its just as sexy as the Duc .. in some respects ... jsut not as new and the HOT thing to have (like the Duc is right now)

I dearly love my aprilia rsv4 and by most accounts a better bike, but I'm going to trade it for a duc as at heart I'm a hardcore duc owner. I've gone back and forth on this more times than I can count. but plan is to pay the pani off and get a hypermotard first of the year.

You'll really like the rsv4 if you end up with one. One thing, it's a v-4 it takes some practice to get good launch, I'm told it's similar to an i4 600.

i still want to get the panigale but its just the point that i got the loan expecting a bike and 2 months have gone by no bike. then if i do re apply i still have to wait for a bike and since my brother is now riding my old r6 im bikeless right now. Just wouldnt feel right to tell him to give me back my bike since ducati is BS'n about deliveries.

I'm back!!! Sent my dealer an email asking if UPS dropped off anything good and he said fighter 848 or panigale. I asked did he get my panigale and he responded "maybe :)". stop playing with my emotions. Soo excited right now

How come you dont just give the dealer the money for the bike and when it comes in you can just pick it up?

I'd give them another 2 weeks. I'm sure it'll be in by then, if not... I might just have to settle for an 1198R or something;)
Im not in a big rush. I'd give them til the middle of June, if not, I'll just buy an 1198 that already has a full exhaust and other goodies and trade it in next year for an 1199. Hope it doesnt come to that though.

See its strange too, if you notice that when the bikes first came in, they went to all the outlying states across the U.S bordering the ocean and seem to work their way inward. Example: Washington, California, Texas, Nevada, Florida, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, etc. Now they are working their way inward. Idk, maybe I am imagining something. Or maybe those states just so happen to have some of the largest dealers, which would make sense because it's warmer down south. If you're in the northern states, we still have a week to go probably, maybe a little longer. But my dealer has had an email that said my bike would be in sometime in May. Not sure an exact date yet. I imagine they are going to call me one day and say "heads up, your bike is gonna be here tomorrow morning".

didn't get to make it to the dealer today unfortunately because i misplaced the darn bank draft lol. i looked for the thing for a whole dang hour before i found it. dealer is about 70 miles away and i have to be back to work at 6pm so not enough time to make it there and back :(. I'm setting up my insurance now though so i can pick it up tomorrow. the saga continues

AARRRGGHHHH! Dealer called me back and I'm expecting a VIN number but I find out that they only got a couple of bases in and the rest were "S" models. Could of got a discount on the "S" but don't want to drop that much on one even with the discount. He said I could wait on the next shipment of bases coming the first week in June but i want to ride this weekend darnit. I'm picking up a red Fighter 848 tomorrow and im having fun this memorial weekend :D.

Also please no dealer bashing! these guys run a great shop and are very stand up guys. I was also told that if I change my mind I could trade the fighter in towards the panigale and only probably take a hit of about the cost of the sales tax. 2014 ducati 799 supersport here I come

you had a chance to get an S at a discount and you passed? lol

yeah could of got the "S" for $23540 OTD but dont want to spend more than 20k. about to close on a house end of June and my wife has set price limits on all the "wants" lol. Plus I dont see the big deal with the DES and I hate the chicken feet wheels so waste of money in my situation.

I agree with you on DES and the wheels, but wow, that deal would have been hard to say no to. But you have good reasons, and the Streetfighter is cool too, and there's always next year.

Well boys dealer just called and my streetfighter is waiting on me to pick it up. I'm sure i'll see some 1199's in the shop when I get there but luckily my bank draft is set for a max of 20k and I'm leaving my bank cards and credit cards at home LOL. Im still goin to frequent the forums and admire you guys' beautiful bikes and I look forward to the panigale's baby brother, which hopefully won't be as painful a process as the 1199.
