Finally Pulled the Trigger !

As stated earlier in this post I am riding 2.5 hours down to my dealership to have first service conducted and whole bunch of carbon accessories installed. After reading hundreds of reviews from both reputable organizations and from members on many forums I was totally on the fence about the wheel issue. Well, yesterday I finally dropped down the plastic and bought the BST Carbon Fiber Wheels to have mounted this Saturday also! Will post pics and MY reviews Sunday perhaps. Wonder how it's all gonna look when paired with the new matte finish carbon DP decided to make this year? Oh well, no turning back now my friends! -lol :D

Couple of things - what is a DOC? (Sorry if I'm being thick here).

Was your top speed indicated speed or GPS confirmed?

Surprisingly, we don't get many camels here in the UK but there are a lot of deer and foxes.

You're not being thick, I should have written it full. I think another poster already mentioned it. DOC = Desmo Owners Club Ie officially recognised Ducati Club

SPeed was on the Speedo not GPS, so off by a few %. That said it was still pulling hard at 297.

I did notice a slight fueling flat spot at around 245/247 where I felt some hesitation. I'll investigate that further when, and if, I try again this Friday. I'd also note that the temp was around 46C by then and thus in cooler climate I, or anyone should get a better result with higher air density.

That said, judging by how hard it was still pulling I don't think it will be a stretch for me, or anyone else, to go "off the clock". That's a stock Tri with only the Termi cans and run in more or less as per Ducati. Now at approx 2600Km/1550/1600 miles.

I rode on a straight road about 10 km long on which there is rarely traffic but there are occasionally camels. Hence we usually ride with a rider out front whose job it is to scan for anything and warn those behind. I only slowed because the guy scouting, on an s1000rr ironically, slowed down and I didn't want to take any risks beyond the obvious.

My bike is in the shop and ready to go but it just keeps pouring rain here. It is meant to fine up on Friday so hopefully I can pick it up and take it for a decent ride over the weekend.

Thanks for the replies - should have worked out that D stands for Ducati...

And no you definitely don't want to be a HOG!

Watching the pavement melt in the 100 F weather we are having - No fun riding in this weather

are you getting the matte finish or the gloss cf?? What was the cost of the set, seems around $3800 is going rate. I'd love to do this!

This past weekend I removed the heat shield and wrapped the pipe with heat wrap which did nothing to alter how much heat is on my legs but it looks "racey"!
I painted the heel gaurds black to see how that looks. It came out nice but probably won't last.
I meticulously cleaned it then rode it which got it dirty again. So I had to clean it which means I need to ride it again!!.....see the pattern here...

To infinity and beyond!!!
