What are you guys paying for the first service?

For my 1,000Km service, it came to AU$299. I have the 12,000Km tomorrow which has been quoted at AU$370 (plus $700 for tyres). Not looking forward to the 24,000Km one though lol!

Not sure it helps you guys in the states... but I thought that was quite reasonable.

Do the work yourself.
Oil and filter was like $70.
I changed it all.
Checked all potentially items that can loosen
Check chain
Check tire pressure

Took to the dealer to reset the service light. Charged me $50.

Not sure why you guys are paying $300 or more...

I did on my zx10... I pretty much won’t do much (mechanically) myself until warranty is over. I’ve had too many arguments over the years about how It was something I did that was at fault (even when I hadn’t touched anything) lol. I can’t do tyres anyway.

Also, when my 2011 Toyota prado motor blew up 9 months out of warranty, I got a full long motor and turbos out of good will, as they were able to see full service history.

I completed the oil change & chain maintenance myself at 621 miles and my amazing service center at the dealership did not charge to turn off the service light. They also reset my DQS system and renewed all 3 brake fluids with supplied RBF.

Changing oil & filter on V4 models is EZ and rewarding and doing so saved me around $300 cause the cost of oil change kit was abt $90.

also looking ahead at 7,500 and 15 DESMO service, the cost of service is significantly less than the big twin panigales. I was quoted $2,200 for DESMO on my 1299, but only $1,400 for that service on my V4. Time to trade in the 1299

I let the dealer perform all maintenance because I have two other bikes I can ride while someone else does the manual work. That and the above mentioned service record plus a good dealer relationship can be very helpful in the long run.

whats the 7500 mile service consist of?

I did a search before as well about the first service. I think if you don't want to service your bike yourself, you got to pay to play.

if you are in this for the long haul, you eventually would want to do it yourself.

perhaps you have to pay the piper for the first time, eventually, you will progress.

call it education fees what I see it, at least you know what the fees are for yourself.

(I choose to do the service myself the first time, and at least I know what it takes, if I don't have time, I will have to pay....)

Paid $300 for the annual service today, so they could change the oil filter, fill her with oil, clear the faults, adjust the exhaust valve cables, upload a software update and turn off the service light. The tech even found some loose items (axle bolt on the drive sprocket side). It is what it is, it's hard to keep a Ducati dealer in my area. I have no problem paying for this service. Great group of guys to work with.

US$400 all in ($275 + extras + tax). Every panel came off and every bolt was torque spec’d. Included installation of provided radiator guards. Also a complimentary set of 717s installed. And some great conversation about chains and exhausts and Motul and Shell and tires. And the requisite oil/filter and chain adjustment. Plus coffee, scones, and over four hours of dedicated individual attention. Good value and a lot of fun. On my own, going forward, for everything routine. I have the tools and the expertise. But I wouldn’t have passed on the experience with Ducati Richmond and their superb service.

$358 was charged by the dealer on the first service.

Here is the breakdown :

Oil Filter - $21.43
Washer - $0.99
Washer - $0.99
Shell Oil - $15.95

SUBTOTAL : $87.21
+
Technician - $243.00

JOB SUBTOTAL : $330.21
Supplies - $3.44
Tax : $24.19

TOTAL : $357.84

I plan on doing the regular maintenance works on my own, Such as oil change every few thousand miles, chain adjustment/lube, and brake fluid if needed.

Like a dealer is incapable of factoring that into their costs. One way or another they will get the $350.
