Had my first excursion with 195Hi (in Sport mode) yesterday and in all honesty it was a little intimidating.

I was initially quite impressed by how accessible the performance of this machine was, since I enjoy the safety net of ABS and DTC, combined with a very progressive power delivery

For me, 195Hi is not like that. Made me very aware of what my right hand was doing, even under moderate riding.

Granted, I have only covered 300km, so am hardly best placed to comment, but let me just say that I want to ride lots more, before I consider leaving it in Hi :p

i love it. as beasty as it should be.

the only change i will probably make is that the ABS will be activated in the rear, too, in lowest level.

I ride in the 195Lo mode. I had it on the 195Hi at first, but throttle is way to sensitive. It was fun, but I prefer the 195Lo. Thx Shawn

Race Mode

While traveling on the highway I changed it to race mode (195hi) on the fly and dropped the throttle. I will say that you can see a DRASTIC improvement in response in this mode and totally loved it! I def think that the first few times on the track I would go in and change the DTC and EBC a bit though until I got used to the default settings in race mode. Ya gotta love this Ride By Wire system eh?

I have configured 'sport' mode for 195Hi and ABS1 level1 (Front only). Smooth throttle is the key to riding fast.
I only used 120 mode once when I got caught in the rain. Felt very slow, even in the wet.

I put my sport mode to 195HI almost immediately. Much better.

I only wish that with the full Termis, I could set it to 205HI lol.

Just had the bike into the dealer, and there was an updated fuel map for it? Termis run RICH.

On reflection, I think that Hi is kind of a hoot to play with, but no way they could ever market a bike that was like that all the time.

I modified sport to be 195HI a few days after receiving my bike. Had it like this ever since. Used wet mode once, but found it to be rather, erm, wet.

well i did not realise how much difference there was from HI to LOW
think i will change mine back to Lo for a while
got me by suprise the last ride, front came up a lot higher and quicker than expected on some back roads we were on
open roads HI would be fine
-respect thre throttle is say :D

Had it in 195lo for the first little bit, ever since 195hi at first a little intimidating but I quickly adjusted, don't think I'll go back to 195lo any time soon

Really??? Struth I did wonder if that was the case? As I always have a little trail of fluid that makes its way from the exit rings of the termi's and wondered what it might be... Now kinda makes sense... Wonder how it will effect the bike performance wise..?

In relation to the actual thread, as soon as I got the bike once it was warmed up it was into race mode, but now I've just set the sport mode to 195Hi and the suspension to same as wet mode and turned the DTC down a little as like to feel front wheel rise a bit. I only use the wet mode whilst the bike is warming up and obviously in the wet....

I didn't think there was any anti wheelie. Does DTC effect this?

Now you got me quickly flicking through the booklet of vast knowledge! Ha. Questioning myself now... I was lead to believe it does as does the ABS stops the rear tyre from lifting on severe breaking on the higher settings?

Need someone who could clear this up Now...

No, I'm sure the DTC does prevent the front coming up depending what level you set it at.... Doesn't it?

I think the ABS will stop the rear tyre lifting under hard braking, but I don't think DTC will stop wheelies. Whereas the S1000RR and Kawasaki are point and shoot, i think the Panigale will be more difficult to launch quickly; I've not experimented yet.

Not sure how DTC would work if the front end is lofted and there's no speed reference from the front wheel to work out if the rear wheel is slipping. I guess gyro's or a tilt sensor will know a wheelie is happening, but will it do anything about it?

ABS at level 2 or 3 will prevent rear wheel lift.
TC at level 5 (only one I have used and tested) will not prevent wheelies at all.

In race mode maybe. I have the opposite experience in Sport. When I was at the track, I had it in Sport/195HI/TC5 (default).

On the front straight, i could twist to the stop and never wheelie. The revs would slow noticably at the top of the range, so I knew it was pulling power. Front wheel never once lofted.

If you read the manual carefully it states that 'rearing' your bike for a prolonged period may disable the ABS mode. ie, set it to off. So I am guessing that rearing is doing a wheelie or perhaps doing a stoppie. I do not care to speculate on any other possible meaning.

I have only tried race mode, set to EBC 2, ABS 2 and DTC 3.

I am getting a lot of rear wheel lift, buts its controlled. Lots of front and rear moving around entering corners on the brakes. The front wheel lifts all the time, has to be controlled by me.

The bike does not seem all that fast, the beamer is faster no doubt. But I like this bike better, much better.

Had the rear tire cut loose in a fast right hander yesterday, traction control stepped in and shut me down kept me on track through the corner. Was fairly abrupt, but I did not come out of the seat much.

I love rider aids!!

Yes, they are referring to stoppies --- long ones!
