I prefer 195Lo for riding on the road....the throttle is much much lighter than on my old 'Blade and on bumpy country roads in the UK I find the 195Hi a little too "trigger happy"....looking forward to testing it on track this summer though....
In race mode maybe. I have the opposite experience in Sport. When I was at the track, I had it in Sport/195HI/TC5 (default).
On the front straight, i could twist to the stop and never wheelie. The revs would slow noticably at the top of the range, so I knew it was pulling power. Front wheel never once lofted.
So ... majority view seems to be no wheelie control, but a couple of views say very difficult to lift the front wheel, even in 195Hi. What's up? Are people doing something differently when on the gas? Just curious - still in my first few hundred k's on my own and not ready to crank it.
Because of the longer wheel base ( thank god ) over the 1098/1198 and the reduced torque ( thanks again ) the bike geometry makes lifting the front wheel much less of a problem. Its a great thing and has nothing to do with electronics.
However with that said once your over 8k > it still pulls the wheel nicely but very controllably compared to the older bikes. It makes this bike so much easier to ride FAST it awesome!
Interesting points.
The wheelbase is only 7mm longer than 199, so not sure whether this is really relevant? i.e. is the impact only minor? On the other hand the weight distribution here is now 52 front/48 rear, compared to 50/50 with the 1199. Maybe that adds something.
I like 195hi in race but find the front does not come up for me unless I pop the clutch in second.
I was pushing this thing harder after an hour of riding it than I ever did on the 1198 in almost two years of owning it.
2nd 3rd and 4th
not poping the clutch
also depends on riding position and riders weight.
I weigh 67kg @ 1.8m tall. Still waiting for my panigale :/
