Yeah, I know that dude! He was the other guy riding my bike when I was in the classroom and vice versa (we switched off between white and yellow groups or whatever). He's a good guy - rode all the way to the class on his K bike and then after riding all day for 2 days on the track he hopped on and rode home. I did the lazy thing and drove home in a truck.

There was another guy in the class who rode down to the class from DC on an R1 (about 4-5 hours) and then after class hopped on his R1 at about 5 pm for the ride home.

I think those guys like riding more than I do.

ha lol i was shot after my 3 days at yamaha . i could not have road home (granted it was in utah and i live in ny) but if it was close i couldnt have road home like you i would have jumped in my car

my money i buy an R and an hp4 over the sl any day of the week and twice on sunday. (never understood that comment) the only reason i dont have an R is because they didnt offer one. the mistake i made was not getting the tri. it is IMO the best 1199 out there period. so now am i wrong because i dont think the R is better than the tri. yes i like the color scheme on the tri and its more rare. personally i have never seen a tri on the rode EVER. (just gunny's but that doesnt count cause i go to his house) however i have seen many Rs. hell i have even seen the sl on the track.

I think they made less White 1199's than Tri or R's

+1 - I was exhausted. I thought about those dudes during the drive home while I was drinking Red Bulls and packing a hogger just to stay in my lane. Those guys are real men. I bet they don't watch Downton Abbey.

actually yes it is. the only reason i am getting it is the paint and all that carbon oh and a full akra all of which i would put on anyway . you are only talking 10k more not more than double the price for the same everything and all you are really getting is carbon body work. see what i did there.

Holy .... guys!

Ok, I won't write another word since I just won't look into this thread anymore.
Like most of EVERYTHING on here that goes awry, its all a matter of personal preference and opinions that we all have. I love my Tricolore and the thousands of dollars in mods, but would sell it if the price was right? (changing the subject)

the issue here is that over and over mere OPINIONS trump FACTS; that is the real issue; eg the SL is a fancy R or Rossi sucks.

again, it's a kind of negative attention seeking/opining vs FACTS.

where's the humility? LOL: the SL has unique engine components, suspension, wheels, exhaust, ECU, etc., etc. Rossi is one of the greats of all time and is running second in 2014....
