People actually think Rossi sucks? WTF?!!?
Yes! the same person that thinks the SL is a "fancy" R with merely "fancy" carbon fiber as the deciding difference....
this forum....is........awesome!
Gents. Cmon. Enough is enough.
If its gonna go back n forth like this take it to a PM please. Its not worth all the time and words you guys are putting out together.
the issue here is that over and over mere OPINIONS trump FACTS; that is the real issue; eg the SL is a fancy R or Rossi sucks.
again, it's a kind of negative attention seeking/opining vs FACTS.
where's the humility? LOL: the SL has unique engine components, suspension, wheels, exhaust, ECU, etc., etc. Rossi is one of the greats of all time and is running second in 2014....
I think you're wrong. All overrated. And I don't like the color of the shock spring ...
Rich? Well, it's a douchecati forum at least
there are many rich men on this forum; some even threw down and bought SLs
I thought I bought an SL; turns out I just bought a semi-fancy R with some carbon bits.
Oh well, I guess I'll take solace in the +20hp and 40lbs weight savings vs the R. If that's semi-fancy then all I can say is:
correct Jello. but the real question is: can you outpace ur fellow R rider
If either one of us can outpace the other on the street, then one of us is doing it very wrong (that applies even if it's base vs SL).
On a track - who's to say? All of these bikes are really capable and a blast to ride, and I have no doubt there are riders on this forum who could best me on the track with a bike half as capable as mine - but who or how many isn't something I worry about too much.
I'm ready to go for a friendly-but-obviously-aggressive whip on the twisties of upstate NY whenever you are, though
i was being facetious in the spirit of the inverse pissing contest of misunderstood terms and obtuse opining;; ; ;; ;
my aggressive street riding days are well behind me....
friendly rides are all i am capable of........trying to gauge this week and when i can go....i suspect we both want to avoid peak manhattan vehicular idiocy (i did ride last night in West Vill and back up here).....
Sorry, whenever in a thread with Mark my facetious/sarcasm meter is always WAY off and needs recalibrating
I live in the West Village! Next time you are down this way hit me up so I can check out your ride.
last i heard RSR married a tranny dominatrix nurse and retired somewhere....
6 pages of nonsense until this. Mods, now that the OP's question has been answered can we lock 'er up? And may RSR and EliteSoldier-ette live happily ever after.Hey! I am insulted!!!
It wasn't a tranny!! It was elitesoldier when he/she was a pre-op ... change. We did elope and now live in the finest trailer park you've ever seen. Next year I'm gonna spring for a double wide!!
JK and no offense to any Tranny's and or pre-ops out there
I'm still riding the crap out of my bikes. Got rid of the Multi even tho I loved it; it was too wide for commuting in NYC area.
Did pass on the SL but not cuz it was a gussied up R...just finally had to put the brakes on in the middle of the slippery slope slide which is Ducati ownership and the need to upgrade or add-on to them.
And finally; after almost 30 yrs of riding; I got punted off my bike on the parkway by a dolt who decided to change lanes without even turning his head or signaling.
My fault really as I broke my number one rule and that was to never ride along side a car/truck or whatever. I always try to put myself in a visible spot but had just been thru a long day and was just actually cruising home instead of trying to break the sound barrier as per usual
Mainly cosmetic damage to my ride and somehow I sprang off of it while it was going down and did some innate ninja type of roll and popped up onto my feet unscathed !! Friggin' totally jacked up on adrenalin after that, I can tell you !!
Been lurking here now and again and keeping tabs on you animals.
Hope all are well and healthy and riding every chance you get.
Only because they ran out of paint.
