I was a little disappointed with the way the bike worked when I first picked it up. It was nice, but compared to my 2014 Daytona 675r was lacking in the engine department.

I changed to Street mode and the bike was much better and far easier to ride so I kept it in that until yesterday when I decided to try Race mode. Massive difference. The engine is no longer chuggy when taking off, the throttle response is crisp and clean, and the power delivery is way better than the Daytona. Pickup across the board is a different bike all together.

So for me, Race mode is making the bike fare more useable.

Wondering if other people have had the same ideas.

If I'm out on the open road it stays in Race mode. If I get stuck in city traffic etc I put it in Sport to tame the bike a little. Before they had different maps to choose from all Ducati superbikes came with Race mode!

V4 and 1299 rider here. Race mode is my favorite because the throttle gives me all the power with less of a twist, and it’s still very smooth. But still even in race mode, power will be restricted unless you dial DTC and DWC down to like 1 or off. Give it a try and you’ll be impressed.

also have a 2014 Daytona 675, that bike is still sweet but compared to the Ducs it’s very slow and not exciting to ride anymore. Maybe I’ll trade it when it’s time to buy another duc

Agree it is slower. Keeping mind to learn trackday stuff. Thanks for your input I'll give the DTC settings a tweak

I look forward to getting the V4R 2020 Goals that and World Peace, thankfully riding gives me excitement and a sense of peace❣️

Great goals for 2020!
Riding brings me inner peace, and that’s important right now. Seems like the best thing to do is leave the TV off and either go ride the Duc or for accessories to it.

be well!

Street mode only 1 time when I took delivery of the bike, since then been in Sport mode. I dialed back EBC a bit as it was a bit too aggressive for me. Planning to move towards Race mode after 600 mile break-in.

what did you set the EBC at?

If it helps anyone I have 2 modes; wet or race with dwc and dtc on 1. You can ride pretty any conditions in race but wet makes it easy as you can pin it when its pouring without too much to worry about.

after a few kilometers (miles ?), sport mode remains the best option for me .. more flexible than street mode (yes it is strange)

I didn't like the V2, I kept going back to the Daytona because it was in street mode. As soon as I changed it to Sport I started to like the V2 and now in Race mode, it's actually the bike I thought it would be.
