I remember mine... Back in '75 I got a Ktm Comet Cross...5occ of pure power..:D
All my buddies had Yammy Fizzys or Honda 50's and I had an "exotic" European model.. I loved the attention till one day one of the guys got a Suzuki GT380... Electric start and 3 cylinders!! Man I was devastated... Then I discovered girls and that's a whole new story of sadness and woe..... :)

1981 Harley Sportster. Bought it new. By 2800 miles, I had monstrous quads from pushing the fukking thing and sold it "as is" when it got stuck in 4rth gear.

71 Honda CL100 - I was 16 at a prep school in PB, FL - I think I paid $500

a used honda z50 in 1983, what a fun bike. same deal, friends were either on BMX's or other 50, yamaha 125's and one even had a ktm 250. Fun days without a care in the world. :)

First Road- 1990 Honda CBR-400RR (Baby Fireblade). Mint limited edition import straight off the boat from Japan, nicked from outside my office in central London about 2 months later. Still remember that summer Aug night doing the ride home of shame on the underground in my leathers!

First Dirt- An absolute frankenstein creation from the random stuff dad had in the garage, 50cc Bennelli powered from memory. Many good memories

Second Road - 1998 Suzuki GSXR 600, night and day performance to the 400 of course, carb icing was a bit of a pain.

Third Road - 2001 Ducati 748e, first brand new bike................the rest as they say is history :)

69 or 70, not sure any more, Honda CB175D.

A better question might be what was your second bike. Probably most of us started on a POS (like my "Dream"). Then we figured out which direction we wanted to go with bikes and our second bike would be the one that started to define our riding styles. For me, my second bike was a '73 RD350 Yamaha.

Cant even recall that far back!

Like most of us I began in the dirt w an RM, XR, etc and then moved to a CBR600 F2 which then was traded in on a 95 Ducati SS 900 which was made into a kick ... 944 w Keihin carbs and serious work from the old infamous BCM Motorsports up in Laconia, NH. Anyone know of them and the history of Bruce Meyer as the Godfather of Ducati? He is now the main training rep for all Ducati Technicians across the country and made guys like Kyle Thompson the best in the biz (now at Seacoast in NH several of you connected with after we spoke about him)

Seeing the transition Ducati has come from with their 916 to the 1199 is very exciting and historic. Good times guys, good times! :D
