wheelie fail

So why did the guy loose his wheelie ? He looked liked he had it well under control for a good while...

For ....'s sake, can't anyone post something without someone shitting all over the OP? I mean, really, most bashing can be broken down into this:

You are X
X Sucks
I am not like X
I rule!!!!

If criticism is constructive I have no problem with it, but 99-.......-9 percent of the time 'criticism' on this forum is just a thinly veiled reference to how superior the criticizer is to the rest of everyone.

As for not stopping:
1) The Bay Bridge is a great place to stop if you want to get crushed to death. I witnessed 6 car pileup on the Bay Bridge as one car after the other swerved at the last second, only to reveal a wall of stopped cars to the car traveling behind. Swerve, bam, swerve, bam, swerve, bam. IMHO the less riders running around on a bridge the less danger to all. Esp since none of us have hazard lights.
2) Unless you're a doctor or know CPR, the best way to help someone is to call 911, not stop and gaze down asking, 'dude, are you ok'?
3) Social proof. Interesting ..... Read up on it.

As for videos of rides:
There are too numerous possibilities to cover. I'll only say that if those who complain about where the OP likes to ride really loved mountain roads they shouldn't live so far away from them that they flip out when someone doesn't spend every waking hour in the hills.

As for SF: San Francisco is a ....... blast of an urban environment to ride in. The chaos, adrenaline and "pay attention to everything or it will have fatal consequences" of SF is far more intense and real than the comparatively tranquil experience of, say, Skyline Dr. or Hwy 1. And you have to do really insane .... to get pulled over (even then you'll most likely just get a verbal beat-down and no ticket). Police in SF take pride in fighting crime, not nickel and diming people for driving 45 in a 40 (motorcycle cops in SF are usually the only ones who write moving violations). Most big cities suck to ride a motorbike in, but SF ranks among some of the best ....... riding I've ever experienced. Think Grand Theft Auto on a motorbike, without the narrative, homicide or 3rd person confusion.

1) In case you didn't notice, there was a motorcycle that had "stopped" after it finished spinning and taking out half the other riders.
2) Can't call 911 unless you stop.

Whatever about all the things that could of happened or been done... I feel bad for the guy that for wiped out by the motorcycle pinwheel!

One ride with all those people would be enough for me. Why cant you all stay in one lane together? Also, wheelie in traffic all around people and cars= lame. Ok, out in the country giving space and all that, cool. But not when something like this can happen on a bridge...

Exactly...I'm not saying myself or the people I ride with are angels, but we don't act like retard squid noobs in traffic drawing as much attention to ourselves as possible. I do know, however, if I was doing a wheelie and crashed, and the ....... people just kept on going, I would be choked. I've never, EVER left a rider that has crashed, and I've witnessed a hell of a lot of crashes. Even people I don't know, it's the decent thing to do.

I agree that there was no organization whatsoever in the group. I would avoid that particular group, or be last in line at a minimum. I did a poker run benefit for my aunt a few years ago. Basically about 15 progressively drunker as the day went on Harley riders and me. I brought up the rear the whole time for my own safety.

People did stop though, just not the op.

The camera does not show the angle but when I pulled to the right my buddy on the ktm was push towing the downed bike (also ktm)and the r1 dude was cruising along with the red and blue flashes right behind him! It was a huge turn out about 60 bikes, usually about 30!! Ironically the wheelie guy was the r1 riders friend; both first timers on the ride!! Any ways thought I'd share one moment of this usually harmless ride. Grazie

Before the wheelie!

Stunting, putting others in danger, that's what I saw. And massing of riders across all multiple lanes of the road. Looked more like a mob than an organized event. I'd just be happy cruising the beautiful sunset alone. Unfortunate state of maturity of some young adults is my guess. This is what those in the great war fought for, I guess- The freedom to not have to think about our effects on others. If I saw that craziness, I would not be interested in being anywhere near it.
