I have never ridden the S1k, but my interpretation from people who's ridden both S1k and Pani is that the BMW is a solid, can't do wrong machine, while the Pani makes you .... your pants.
Does that explain 'boring'?
Agree~ but i guess that goes for all supersport bikes
no way! never experienced with S1000RR be4. Can you elaborate on what your take is on bmw being more boring?
There a good reason why Superbike schools picked the S1000RR to fill their stable. Very much resemble the German design philosophy, no BS, functional approach.

yeah I rode their S1000RR at the school. BORING
Did you know British California Superbike schools have Ducati Panigale? How do you explain that?
no BS, Funtional approach with Italian beauty, emotions, and excitement?
that school is a joke

Have to agree, obsessive counter steering instruction for beginners!
The BMW track ride day's were supported by Cal SBK School instructors and during the breaks they had classroom instruction so I got to sample the advanced classroom whiteboard stuff and they wanted me to spend a lot of time on the edge of my tyre, the sort of lines I would pull in my car on the track. I stupidly went up and drew on the whiteboard what I would do (slower speed tighter angle for a shorter time) bad move again I was laughed out.
Two of my friends who have been on three of the courses together are forever going on about counter steering, Invaluable tool to very advances riders but not so much for beginners. If you can't basic counter steer you wouldn't make it through the first corner
I wouldn't run down the bike schools so quickly. They teach some basics and help a lot of guys understand the dynamics that are in play on a motorcycle.
I for one encourage all riders who haven't done a school to do one.
If I can help one more fellow motorcycle enthusiast to stay alive , I am happy.
There are many ways to take a corner. In the class I race in, we divide dramatically in our race lines and execution.
We mostly get around safely and you'd be surprised how 2 totally different lines and techniques reach a similar goal.
It's a bad showing that they laughed at your line. It's yours and if it works, all good right.
But at the end of the day, they do teach some life saving techniques so wouldn't want newbies thinking they are a waste of time.
I have seen one too many dead motorcyclist on the mountain passes because they really had no clue.
It's not a nice sight , and I always wonder if it could be avoided with some schooling.
In any case, enough of the morbid stuff. Tomorrow we see the V.
Can't wait. Hope ol Ducati surprises us with another beaut !
I did another course with Troy Bayliss on my local track (on my own ducati)A couple of corners they lines he show us were completely different to how we race. We got a few laps on one of his race team's race bike too.
