Who is excited about the Ducati V4?

I'm not saying it won't grow on me and I'm not saying that it's not awesome on paper but there's nothing here that has me excited to go to my dealer as soon as they open and put in a deposit.

As I said, I like the Speciale for several reasons but I still think that the 1199 Superleggera is the high water mark. Hell, at this point, I think that I'd rather buy a used 1299 Superleggera than drop $40k or whatever for that Speciale. And the regular has barely any appeal to me whatsoever. I'd rather buy a SuperSport and slap some bags on it and go sport touring...

That said, I am holding out some hope for the R in a year's time.

My two cents to me looks like a panigale is not ugly simply has the same looks as panigale the speciale looks bad ass and 226 hp what a beast

Can't believe people don't like it. Personally I think it looks stunning. Bravo Ducati!

Electronics...incl. 6-axis IMU
Latest-generation electronic controls

The Panigale V4 not only sets new benchmarks in terms of top performance, but also defines new active safety standards and vehicle dynamics control - thanks to a state-of-the-art electronic package, based on the use of a 6-axis inertial platform (6D IMU - Inertial Measurement Unit) that instantly detects the motorcycle's roll, yaw and pitch angles in space.

The Panigale V4 electronic package includes controls to ensure management of all the riding phases; some of these control the start, acceleration and braking phases, others manage traction, while others kick in when riding into and out of corners.
  • ABS Cornering Bosch EVO
  • Ducati Traction Control EVO (DTC EVO)
  • Ducati Slide Control (DSC)
  • Ducati Wheelie Control EVO (DWC EVO)
  • Ducati Power Launch (DPL)
  • Ducati Quick Shift up/down EVO (DQS EVO)
  • Engine Brake Control EVO (EBC EVO)
  • Ducati Electronic Suspension EVO (DES EVO)
The operating parameters of each control are factory-associated with the three Panigale V4's signature Riding Modes. The rider can customise his or her riding style and restore Ducati's factory settings. The level of one of the DTC, DWC, DSC or EBC control functions can be quickly adjusted via the direct access buttons provided on the left-hand switchgear.

Not sure what all the bashing is about. It looks very similar to the Pani twin.. which is sexy as F*$k btw. The weight, the motor, the electronics.. capable of 226hp @ the crank.

This is definitely going on the list of must-haves. I, personally, don't give two ..... about paint. Anything can be painted, however you want, for a nominal amount. I just want to see how this thing performs. On paper this blows away anything currently available today (sans special $80k machines) in this price range.

Looking forward to it. Might be dropping a deposit on Tuesday..

That one piece faring that flows on the tank is awkward. Wonder if them mirrors fold?

Am I correct in assuming that there is no capacity for two up on this one? The rear cowel looks to be solid and can't see rear pegs on any shots......not complaining, just an observatrion.

The new bike is more of a mutation of the outgoing Panigale rather than an evolution. The new Panigale is bulkier and less sleek (harsh angles) with much more attention to function rather than a perfect balance of form and function. The new Panigale looks to compete with the performance of the s1000rr and the likes rather than remain its own personality and what made the V-twin Panigale so special.

The specs on this new V4 are very very impressive. I agree that it's a little uglier than the original Panigale but that's a comparison that very few bikes, if any, are going to win.
