I am fortunate enough to have just bought a '13 Multistrada Pikes Peak, and a '13 Panigale.

I actually bought the Panigale back in February, and honest to god...have it even started it yet. I am a Firm believer that you don't start/run bikes in the winter(moisture, blah blah)...you start them when you're ready to ride. (And I have been messin' around with the PP a bit :D )

Anyhow...The weather has finally broke in the midwest for good I think...and I couldn't resist any more and started it up for the first time today. Whollymotherofgod!!!! This is the nastiest, angriest, most pissed off sounding stock bike I have ever heard in my life... And I have the stock exhaust! I mean...Man-oh-Man... It sounds ominous.

....just thought I would share. I think need to go lay down now or something.

How are you enjoying your Mts PP??

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Pikes Peak. I had a '12 PP(also loved)...and upgraded.(dont ask... :) ) It is just such an amazing all around bike. I honestly think about the bike all the time. (Andy have been a sport bike guy..forever).

Short story... I can absolutely feel a difference with the engine updates they made...so much cleaner/smoother. And it feels more nimble then the 12 which I attribute to the forged wheels. Can't say much yet on the Skyhook suspension, other than it appears to work....well. Not missing the Ohlin's at least.

...but Lord!! The Panigale sounds friggin amazing. Can't wait to get her out form the maiden voyage...hopefully this weekend. :D

Get the Termi slips IMHO..Brings out the real Ducati growl at a "reasonable" price and gets rid of that awful flapper valve thingy....

The "awful flapper valve thingy" is what will ultimately drive me to get the Termis!

The Termi slip-on does not remove the valve thingy.

Hell yeah they do... Check your facts dude..I have fitted them myself..I know exactly whats removed and the servo unit that controls the flapper goes bye bye.. and flapper is sprung constantly open and non-operational..

Did you ride it or just fire it?
Time to ride that mofo and report back ;)

Now that I know what it is, it doesn't bother me too much. First time it closed (opened?), I thought something had seriously gone wrong with the engine internals.
Now I barely notice it.

Each to their own..It drove me nuts...:)

True. Much better to let moisture collect in the bottom end and on internal surfaces and sit for a while than to fire it up, let it heat up and blow all that moister out the exhaust. Good thinking. ;)

Hell yeah they do not. Check your pipe dude. The flapper valve still sits there with the slip-on. You have to disconnect the servo cable and the valve stays open. But the valve is still there.

Semantics... Gotta love them..Ok just to be absolutely clear then... they remove the mechanism that makes the Flapper
function so it does not operate... Do you concur??

I kind of concur. My slip-on was installed by a Ducati dealer, the servo cable was still connected after installation so I was not sure if it was operational or not. I disconnected the cable myself. You can disconnect the servo cable with OEM pipes, no need for Termi to do that.

What??? The servo should be removed Per Ducatis instructions... I think your Dealer goofed..

Maybe it is a European thing or maybe the dealer goofed. I know that a forum member from Germany (karrl) had the servo and cable in place and operational after the Termi was installed. I will check with my mechanic next time I see him.

That's hilarious! You bought the pani without test riding or starting it up? That's faith my friend...

same here. i'm not really sure i saw the bike for more than a few minutes when i bought it and a couple weeks later upon delivery was when i first rode it.

worked out perfectly.

faith? yep, i purchased it from jarel in omaha. ;)
