Why did Ducati change the Panigale V4R one week before release?

I dont care, I agree it does looks ugly from certain angles.

But you dont look at them squatting down in perfect profile, you see them from the height your eyes looking down and then it looks good. The big problem is that they are not very crashable and I am not looking forward to having an off with it.

So much jumping on the the new R threads, the fanboys are losing their ....! Most people buying them (unless top racers) are going to struggle getting to the end of a well set up R simply because there is a shortage of good tracks for superbikes like this to stretch out, and if you're on a shorter track a well ridden and set up 05 gixxer will be in the same ballpark as we have seen because rider skill is 95% of going fast on track. An R is not just about being a boy racer, its an emotional purchase, a reward, a display for the foyer or whatever- doesnt matter

For me the big question is are the front forks electronic or not, because if so that is a major direction change signalling the superiority of suspension electronics for the track. There are no references to it in the blurb so the configurator may be a frankenstein creation.

Its only electric forks too. The renders all have the expected manually adjustable shock. Likely just an oversight by the marketing department.

correct and the forks are correct. So they had one for the presentation, but the one on the site is a V4S. Its strange...

I’d have to agree that someone running the configurator dropped the ball. Most likely they skinned the V4S template and forgot to change the forks. Apart from the wheels, shock, and rear bank exhaust cover, everything stays the same and there’s just exposure changes.

And in true Ducati fashion… let’s break down the 240 hp claim…. Is that at the wheel? I don’t think so ..
Is that after a few conversions to get to the crank.., like putting it 20000 feet below sea level or something… and as for 4 hp from oil…. Ffs!

shortage of good tracks.....jerez, Aragon, Brno, Barcelona, le mans, Silverstone, Donington, yeah....

...Misano, Mugello, Imola, Ferrari Circuit (all within 2 hours drive), Monza...
Most of them are sold in Italy. After Italy the #2 stat I got from Claudio D. a few years ago was '25% of all sales outside of Italy went to California.' I never saw an R at a Starbucks in SF though. Things may have changed. Not sure.

where are all the CakeBakers that can build better ones themselves ?

you know who you are !

Not only build one but build it for $45k.

In regards to the +4 hp through the special oil, I believe it. One of the benefits of running a dry clutch is that you don’t have to worry about additives contaminating the clutch. You can run a slicker less viscous oil to take advantage of the gun drilled pistons. Less friction = more power. If I was a racing team and saw +4 hp from a special oil (that I didn’t have to spend money to develop) I’d be really interested. Rea probably threw a tantrum when heard this.
