Why has Ducati stopped making Yellow bikes?

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I think it was my 2nd or 3rd Superbike that came in yellow out of the crate, before slapping on aftermarket Sharskinz (the best bodywork there is) and would've left it as is if I knew for a fact I wouldn't go dragging the pretty yellow shine down the asphalt, grass and gravel at VIR once upon a time! :)

It was a 2002 748R and as I stood there staring at each piece of wood removed from the original box (Which i still have too!) I fell in love with the yellow after it sat there all by itself shining back at me! Only issue is, that i wasn't ready at that moment with camera in hand! Saved all the pieces until time came to place them back on before selling it for the infamous SV650 in 2003 - now owned by our Mod Phil who is preparing to win the entire lightweight championship with that tricked out bike! And most importantly - that bike STILL has the very same Sharkskinz race bodywork on it still (I think so right Phil?) which shows you just how durable that stuff truly is, and which Sean Lezotte from Connecticut Cycle Refinishing (CCR) (Who can ALSO tell you 5 reasons WHY SS is some of the best bodywork on todays market from a Professional POV!

Forgot to say that since it was the start of the infamous Operation Iraqi Freedom kick off, I had Sean at CCR do a special paint job for me that I thought was befitting -and which eventually lead to my own deployment which those of you that know me are aware of THAT outcome!

So ticked I can't find ANY pics of the yellow bodywork! Just the SV with the same stuff painted over in our US Flag Colors ! :D

Dude, stop yelling. We're right here.

I'm with Double0 on this one.

If you keep your bike stock looking, then you can get annoyed when you park withother stock bikes.

I love seeing a see of red bikes that have each been personalized.

Red is the original blank canvas. Perfect opportunity to make it your own with some custom decals.

Not sure how your computer works but no loud sounds come out of mine when I read capital letters on the former Marine's posts. I just see capital letters being typed where I assume he just wants emphasis for his thoughts.

In my view he has earned that right. Just don't read his posts if you don,t like it. I think your post is offensive and shows no respect for a fellow countryman who has been injured during active service.

They didn't stop, Scrambler is yellow and the streetfighter a while back came in yellow.

Knew someone was gonna note the Scrambler lol. I think the Streetfighter is on its way out though ... I dont see how it still exists with the 821 around ...

Cause they came to their senses !

The only color it comes in is red. The rest were just color code mistakes :)

NOLA

Yelling?

Hi Sprinkles.

Guess I never really got into all the PC computer etiquette in my lifetime and give it no thought when typing away on things I get excited about buddy. Sorry if your ears were burst open (I guess it would be eyes in this case right?) and you are actually the first member to make note / comment regarding it Sprinks. I am "Assuming" you were just joking around sarcastically with the small comment right? I'd hate to think the thread actually really did get "Escalated" ya know? Not in my opinion Sprinkles - yours? Either way, I took no offense to your post and hope ya don't by mine here either brother? :D

What my friend Brad was talking about is that I've been around on this forum since the first day it went live for the most part, and have literally hooked up more members on here than all the vendors together (Uhhh, well maybe not that much but close right old timers?) LMFAO
When he spoke about the injuries and such. Yes, one of my PTSD symptoms is writing a bit too much and using exclamation points and CAPS perhaps too often - Whatta ya gonna do right?

To be extremely open and provide more of what Brad meant, I am not sure if you have ever seen this article of mine which provides a bit of my Marine Corps career, racing career, and at the bottom pics of my current (and of course last) Ducati I will own-since this is a show bike. Also, as Joker1199 stated, YES the bike does deserve to actually be ridden but under my circumstances that is very often not possible my man. :(
I just had 5 surgeries to my Cervical Spine in the month of December alone which made for a ...... Christmas gents!

So I seriously hope all is well Sprinkles? I DEFINITELY don't want to get into silly things like your Screen Name, (or even as a fellow New Englander) using the word "Mass-Hole" being from Boston and all. LOL.(And YES I am totally joking and sarcastic with what I just said my friend!)

Hell, I just found this link in the complete mess of all my Ducati related files and figured that while I was on another PTSD roll of writing wayyyy too much, I may as well plug this into the thread as well. :D
It should open to Page #42- so click the Blue "Yes" when link opened, or scroll the virtual magazine to Page #42 if not. I posted this a long time ago with some additional comments about the incredibly beautiful author Danielle Teal (You know her Sprinkles?)

Hoping this makes all good and that the main issue of Yellow Bikes are still as hot as ever-correct?

The 60th anniversary edition yamahas look nice though and I'm not a fan of yellow at all, not just bikes but the color yellow. I wouldn't go buy one but maybe breaking up the solid yellow with some black in it helps make it more appealing.

Probably what Rossi's bike color will be as well as his suit.
