Will resale values improve??

I would add, that whilst values might increase, that's going to depend on the market.
Looking at the used market in Aus, there are, not a lot, of 1098's being sold. In fact, there are a couple of special 1098/1198 units for sale and they've sat unsold for some time.

An example is a brand new 1098R Bayliss LE.

Due to the limited number of 1098/1198/99 etc for sale on the Aus market then hopefully this will mean good things for our resale value down the track? Whilst they've limited chance of increasing value, for some time, they may not suffer such a large drop that our American friends are experiencing.

and hopefully as the price drops the squids will buy them up, write them off, and thus push the value up further...... we can only hope....

they weren't doing anything illegal, correct.

the new rolex's are gaudy hunks of ..... if you must wear a Rollie, get a vintage..imnsho. it's all jewelry in smartphone age anyhow....

I've paid $4200 for a new Rolex Sea Dweller in 2008 and sold it earlier this year for $7600. I also disagree about the "gaudy hunks of ....". All Rolex models (most) are 42mm face which is pretty small compared to most brands of watches. Its not a something hip hop star would wear which is like 50mm + face....you can probably use it as a weapon.

I have used my Rolex Sea Dweller watch in Iraq/Afganistan, hundreds of skydiving, scuba diving..and I did not baby it. It still worked awesome and look almost new. It was one of the most impressive watch/equipment I ever own.

I do agree that new Deep Sea is big and hunky (44mm), thus I did not get one.

Some folks like to wear a reliable watch instead of looking at your iPhone.

Apologizes to go off topic.

I would think Rolex, to some degree would think its both a timepiece and jewelry.
I'm not a fan of a Chanel J12 (standard fair for women).
Though I was impressed, admiring a woman's Rolex Submariner, sans jubilee bracelet at the coffee shop the other morning. No rings, no bracelet, no necklace, just a Rolex.

I cringe, when I see a mates boss, drive his GT3RS and flash his all gold Rolex. The guy has the appearance of having no idea, which looks gaudy and tacky.

My brothers boss, has a Richard Mille, America's watch, on the other hand. Takes a keen eye.
