2006 SuperSport ignition switch

Hi,I just got a 2006 SuperSport 800 fixer upper.The ignition switch is missing beside the seat and broken plastic.I got the service manual few days ago and realized that the bike has an ignition immobilizer.I bought a new switch from eBay but does not work.All I get is a blinking light and nothing else on the dash.I price a new OEM switch is is around $330.00.My question is before I buy the switch I would like to know if a new original part will solve the problem and make the bike start or if something else is needed.Thanks for any replay

This bike is one of the red key bikes I think. Did you get a code card? If you have neither the red key or the code card you can't get around the immobolizer. You will need to replace (or reprogram) the switch, the dash and the ECU. Do an internet search as there's guys who can do the reprogramming.
