OK; so I am going through the painful process of mounting track bodywork for the first time. All in all, I am amazed at how everything fits together. Solid product. See first pic.
That said, I cannot for the life of me figure out what the hell how the two indents (which creates bulges on the inside) where the front fairing mounts to the fairing stay and the windscreen. (Where the mirrors used to be.) See last two pics.
The bulges actually prevent the fairing from mounting flush with the windscreen and the fairing stay. WTF?
Can anybody help me out? I cannot figure their purpose other than to throw another problem at me.

Not sure. My armour bodies fit great. Maybe you can bend the mount to match body work.

on my 675R, I had to bend them a bit for the street bodywork... but they worked just fine for the track bodywork... or vice versa depending on how you look at it.

No; everything fits very well and I do not need to bend anything. The exception is the mounts for the fairing stay; in this one area there are these huge indents where the bolts would be for the mirrors (inset/counter-sunk). In these spots, the bolt holes are sunken in about an inch, which creates these huge tumor-like bulges on the inside of the fairing. The design does not jive with the design of the OEM bodywork, the OEM fairing stay or the aftermarket fairing stay.

It's almost as if these things need to be ground off and fiverglassed over so it is flat; but that makes no sense.

Stupid question. Did you put it on upside down? Not familiar with it so just asking.

I see what you are referring to now, yes it is supposed to be like that. I'm not sure the purpose. I had my armour bodies mounted to my oem fairingstay last season just fine. I now have the motoholders fairingstay and haven't mounted body work yet. Is it the single mount hole on the fairingstay that doesn't jive with the two countersunk holes on the fiberglass?

Yes, exactly. The countersink holes, regardless of whether there's one or two, create a massive gap between the faring stay and the bodywork and the windscreen and the bodywork. WTF are they thinking?

Maybe it's to get the fairing to sit taller and direct more wind over the rider at race speed.
Just a guess?

Armour Bodies

Mine does the exact same thing. I cannot understand as well. I have the motoholders stay. It does not matter the stay...issue still exists. I would like to understand this as well. I was thinking of drilling 2 holes and run a ziptie thru it. But that would look like shizz. So far, i have left it alone....8-10 trackdays.

FYI - Woodcraft recommends using a zip tie instead of a bolt to connect the fairing to the fairing-stay where the two "bulges" are. They have found that the zip-ties break away in the event of a crash, greatly reducing damage.

I suppose push-pins are also an option; however, the bolt size is M5 and so one would have to find a long and relatively narrow (5mm) push-pins. Not a big deal; for the last couple of years I have been using zip-ties on the OEM bodywork here anyway.

most race fairing stays come with a adapter plate that screws into that, u should have adapter plates..

It looks like Motoholders makes 2 separate fairing stays - one for original points of mounting?

1199 R Panigale - Motoholders - The accessories for the motorbikes

Not sure which race plastics wouldn't use the original mounting points, and not sure which you have?

Interested as I was thinking of going this route. My Armor Bodies mounted up to the OEM stay just fine. I'll see if I can get a pic tonight.

i snapped a couple pics of mine...hope it helps

I purchased my set lightly used along with the motoholders stay. looks like previous owner drilled additional holes...

I called Tightails. There is no adapter plate; the faring stay is one piece with no adapter plate required.

Hey Ahmed, where can I find this adapter plate? Motoholders doesn't sell them, neither does SS or Armour.

Ah, I'm mounting mine to a Motoholders stay and was curious on how it was gonna mount since SS have the angled OEM fairing stay mounts.

I PM'd Jarel and he made an adapter bracket that mounts to the Motoholders stay and quick releases to the stock holes on the bodywork.
