Woolich tune

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Each ride it gets a bit closer. I basically just ride it and try to hit various gears with various throttle positions. Going 100% throttle does pose its challenges though. Especially at about 7000 rpm when the power really hits.

It does not adjust on the fly. After I get home I upload the data that was logged and plug it into the software. the Woolich auto tune software then looks at the AFR logs and adjusts wherever the target AFR is not close to 13.5. I then reflash the ECU with the new adjusted mapping. It tunes both the IAP map and the TPS map. In the software it has a predesignated cylinder offset so it takes that into account when making changes.

I do have the ability to go in and manually adjust various areas on the graph and have just now only started to play with that part.

When I had my 1199 I had the woolich auto tune , when I bought my 1299 a trusted member offered a dialed in woolich 1299 map which I scooped reason why I didn’t buy the auto tune again .

It’s posted on Map share.. BTW

My auto tune for my 1199 made a significant difference . Only challenge I had was full throttle was a little crazy on the street.

Keep going man , your map is starting to look great . I think woolich is the only way to build a custom tune over a internet tune you can’t view .

Fortunately where I live there are a lot of straight country roads with no traffic where I can get away with the occasional full throttle pulls. But to be honest I cant hold it there very long. The "If something bad happens right now its going to really ....... hurt!" thoughts start creeping in my head.

One of the things that I do really like about it is you actually get realistic air pressure in the air box. I don't think it is very easy to replicate that on a dyno. Now the down side to that is you only have your ... dyno to tell where the power gains are. Oh well, nothing is perfect.

I agree you are creating a real condition tune specifically for your bike .
Hope more guys get on woolich and utilize and Mapshare helping each other .

I was wondering once you get it dialed in would it make sense to book an one hour dyno session and see how close you are .. I thought about doing that as well .

That's the plan. I have a buddy who has a dyno. Unfortunately he moved, had to disassemble it and has not re assembled it yet. He plans on having it back up and running by hopefully June or July. It really depends on what the world does though. The nice thing it I will be able to load the original OEM settings back into the bike and see the before and after comparison.

I like the map share feature and maybe I should have started with the one that was posted. I plan on submitting mine when it gets a bit closer to hitting the target AFR.

I was going to suggest that - factory vs what you created .

I did the same between the tune I have now and stock.

I raced my buddy on his Aprilia RSV4. I think that the model anyways last weekend I literally smoked him and I was trying hard to keep my front tire down.

You’ll end up with a fantastic tune locking it full potential.

What bike are you running again 1199-1299 ?

My buddy with the dyno has a 2016 R1 with a full exhaust and its been tuned as well. I am curious how it stacks up against it.

You’ll smoke it , I raced a few R1 they are heavy bikes

I have been riding my Honda RC 51 track bike for the last probably 10 years. That bike is making a monstrous 125 HP at the wheel. So to be riding this probably 183 HP ish Panigale is a bit of a jump. But its fun.

I think you’ll be better than 183 HP ... probably closer to 190 ish .

Maybe. I still am using the OEM Akro exhaust that still has the cat in it and the pretty small exhaust outlet. I'm hoping to move up to a full system at some point in the future.

That would make a difference, I have full AKRO system I like it better than my full Termi .

then you can make videos of the exhaust shooting flames for us

Okay so I'm grasping that concept now. How did you wire that? I'm assuming its just into the power wire?

Yep. I also have a circular 4 pin by the plate for the diag plug and one for the mini data connector (extension cable) for the log box. Log box and Zeitronic boxes are in the tail. That way I never have to mess with the box. Just pull the bike in and plug into the tail
