So I have the 2016 1199 R. It has the OEM Akro Ti system with the cat still in the cans. I did delete that dumb exhaust flapper though and completely removed it from the mid pipe. I have already done the smog/ Pair block off plates and deleted the AIS crap. Basically it injects fresh air from the air box into the exhaust system. They say its to help burn off unburnt fuel but its to help the bike pass emissions testing. If you leave it in place the O2 sensors wont be getting an accurate exhaust gas reading because there will be additional air diluting the exhaust gases. My plan is to upgrade to a full race system in the future but for now this looks like the best way to start maximizing the performance capability of the OEM stuff.
On a side note it may have already been brought up in this forum but I did figure out how to get/ make the AIS delete plug with out turning it off in the ECU. I found where to source the male plug that will fit the OEM plug and a 22 ohm 1 watt resistor to prevent a CEL on the dash.
