If Yoos guys thought I was serious about dropping that much for that helmet you all need to take another deep hit on the water bong cause there is now frigging way id do that!

Cali duc- either im going nuts or high myself but I swear I just saw you posted that you almost had every piece of carbon Dp made on your Tri? Im going the total carbon look as well but went the Carbonvani look with glossy finish for mine! The matte finish just doesn't give me wood like the wet look.

Gotta admit that is one sweet helmet though!

Hi Gunny,

No your NOT going nuts. Your quite right, my prior post mentioned that I have ever piece of DP carbon and all the accessories on my Tricolore (excluding the tank bag). I edited it be a little more conservative.I like the satin carbon. However, I totally appreciate all the gloss carbon as well. I personally just wanted to have the Tricolore have the designers intent.

The carbonvani carbon is fantastic.

Oh man I wish I could take a hit on the water bong, although it is not cool with my kind of work :-( ... As I am fully paid up on the bike and everything to do with it, paying $4+K for a lid is not an issue. I budgeted 50K for this little project. I earnt it some time back.

BTW - Much kudos for your service to the country Gunny. I hold our countries soldiers in the highest regard.

Would you mind sharing as to why you didn't like them?
Fit and finish, too flimsy, what?

Sure...

Fit and finish is fine. They look great and I'm sure they're sufficiently sturdy to withstand most of the abuse they're likely to get!

It was really just the right side heal guard that I didn't like. It doesn't match the form or angle of the original - not even close. It is more vertical rather than horizontal and impacts my ankle rather than my heal. And it is angled outward from the bike rather than paralleling it as the original does.

I don't want an ankle guard and I don't want to worry about snagging the top of it with either boot or pant as I move my foot around. I ride on the forward part of the balls of my feet and these just do not feel right.

They look great - but in this case, I want function over form and the stock/OEM are functionally better for me.

Speaking of DP fiber mods.

I bought the DP CF heal guards and don't like them. Installed them, sat on the bike then took them off and put them back in the box.

So, I can take them back or will sell to anyone on the list and ship. I think I got a 10% discount off list price (plus tax) so call it 150.00 even and I'll pay for shipping.

I waited about a month for them to show up from Ducati - your wait is the length of time in shipping.

Lemme know by the end of the week if you're interested. I'll return them to the dealer on Friday the 14th when the bike goes in for service and mods.

I'll also post this in the FOR SALE section.

THESE JUST SOLD. Thank you for the quick response. I'll get them shipped off Monday morning.

Sounds fair enough, thanks for sharing your findings on these..

Many thanks Cali. We will have to compare Tri builds when we get em all done. I appreciate your comments on the Corps, and the vote that Carbonvani is a good product since I had no idea at all.
Refresh my memory, you got the satin finish BSTs correct? If you need a hook on them shoot me a pm bro.

Ps. So wtf is gonna happen out in CA to all the bike owners who have other than stock exhausts on their bikes?? Saw ebay wont ship some full systems to CA residents! Brutal and ridiculous law.

Since I have been adding so much carbon to my bike I figured this would be my next piece to add. Until I had to pick myself up off the floor !

I need to look into this issue AGAIN. Everytime I post something from my stupid Droid it shows that it never goes thru. And then I look at this site on my Mac Book Pro and see 2-3 of the same damn post. You guys must really think I lost my mind- or just being an ass again. Sorry!!!!

Hi Gunny, I don't have the BST wheels on my Tricolore, I do think they are amazing though. All the accessories and parts on my Tric' are Ducati Performance.

With regards to the California up and coming exhaust pipe law revision, I have a full Termi system on my Tric' and I understand the new law kicks in on January 2013 and is focussed on any new bikes and bikes post the introduction of the law. So, I *think* I am covered, however if I am not, then I am pretty sure I will know about it ;-)

Yeah I was hoping it would be like a "grandfathered" type thing. Not sure how the hell LEO would be able to identify or enforce this unless you had some really hotshot cops who know their stuff on bikes!

I also started with all DP stuff until i changed my mind on the matte carbon look. I am going all glossy and Carbonvani gives one that option. Getting the DP stuff cleared with some neat stuff in it too. I will send out pics of it all when done. I am seriously decking this bike all the way out and cant think of what else I could use- besides kick ass rear sets which someone will eventually come out with. If ya think of anything cool let me know!
hey did you use the DP Tail Tidy? Did you see my fix to using the huge stock turn signals? It was by far the best move I made and they are LED and look soooo much better being so small. I even took pics of the DP part numbers on the boxes which are plug and play, no freaky splicing or mess! If ya didnt see it here was the thread.

Gunny, I thought your "my first depth try-colore service" thread was excellent. That was a quality thread and helped a lot.

I have the stock USA back turn signals, I am either going to follow your lead with the euro ones on or wait till RIZOMA comes out with their wares. I would recommend DP rear sets and a full TERM system. I also have the DP tail tidy and like it a lot.

I *REALLY* like the Carbonvanni kit. I thought about getting another 1199 S and doing the whole lot in Carbonvanni as I really want to keep the Tricolore intact. The second 1199 Carbonvanni would be a dedicated track bike.

Dude are you swimming in money or what? Second 1199 "totally covered in carbonvani" for track only " Holy .... man! Everything I saw from Rizoma on their snazzy rack system didnt have anything to use on the rear signals, but who knows whats next. The part numbers for the DP signals are in that thread I posted. I really appreciate your kind comments about it too, sometimes I get long winded but want to get ALL the info out to everyone!
WHere you getting these bikes too? Not even sure I know what state you are in? If it was on east coast I could find you some bikes, just like I did this wknd for another member on here. I picked i up for him Sat in my truck. Now he has his dream come true S model and LOVES IT !

Gunny, your a solider who can do no wrong mate. I know that a lot of folks on this forum appreciate your advise. On the Military I have a lot of friends who put the country first, deep respect for your service. I really appreciate C4ISR and Maryland. I have also spent a lot of time in VA.

RIZOMA is due to drop their 1199 Panigale line and the word is that it is good.

My main abode of preference is the Silicon Valley, California. Bikes are a secondary passion and world class sailing is my main hobby. Not wanting to come across as a cardboard cut-out .....

My women wants me to keep the Tricolore as is with the DP parts and so getting a pure track bike for Leguna Seca makes a lot of sense. She is encouraging me to have a track bike as she views it as safer. I really like the Carbonvani kit so it makes sense to get another 1199 although an S model. She loves bikes and boats although no interest in planes or helicopters (although I am working on her).

Farnbourgh airshow this week in the UK .. yippee. Well worth putting up with the UK weather and then MotoGP at Leguna Seca at the end of July.

>> Sorry for the thread drift <<
