Just looked at the 1199 specifications... the bikes come from the factory with the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP. The front tire is a 120/70ZR17 and the rear is a 200/55ZX17... wow, that's going to be a big rear! I already want to swap the rear out to a 190/50!

Aprilia has gone to that size already on their RSV4s. They seem to be an awesome tire. Can't believe we are seeing 200 tires on race/sport bikes!

The large rear tire is one of the more appealing qualities of the 1199.

Much like the old Porsche Turbos, a beautiful woman with a big a** ready for anything you can imagine. Power sliding with the rear tire is best achieved with a big rear end to transmit all that HP to the road. The engineers know what they are doing.

Interesting development.

For reference my 1996 GSXR-750 that was purchased brand new for race only came stock with 190/50-17. Most of us ran 180s on the track for better cornering. All things considered, my '87 GSXR had a huge 140/70-18 on the rear, lol.

Sucks trying to get tires for it thiugj
