For anyone interested, Melcodiag works for the V4 to reset DTC's as well as reset service reminders. I have been able to do both on my bike. I had the dealer return my bike to a stock tune with my aftermarket exhaust, so I threw an exhaust valve code which I was able to reset.
The items you need are: Diagnostic Interface for MelcoDiag TuneECU DDA with the Melcodiag software jpdiag
I did run into some issues licensing the software. I simply misunderstood where to paste the license info. Here is what you need to know:
The blue button in Melcodiag does not open chrome properly (you must use chrome browser). It is supposed to paste the info into the address line of chrome automatically, but instead whatever it pastes gets interpreted by chrome as multiple addresses which results in the opening of multiple tabs, each with only pieces of the info required.
If this happens, close chrome and re-open it. Clear the address line and hit ctrl-v in the address line (if you pressed the blue button in Melcodiag previously it puts a copy of the info in your clipboard as well as tries to open chrome). This should open a jpdiag page with all the info properly pasted into the page. Add your bike and email in the white boxes. Then you just have the press the send button in the page to submit it. You should then receive the license in about a day.
My problem was this: I didn't realize the info was supposed to be pasted into the ADDRESS LINE of chrome. From what is written in the license submission web page, there is a white box that says paste the jpdiag info in there. I was pasting the info into that white box and it does not work. The info is supposed to be pasted into the address line of chrome, which then populates that white box correctly!
It's great to have a solution that supports servicing the bike yourself! Even better that it is a very inexpensive solution.
