SBK Exhaust- I’m not desperate but damn

Mine just arrived today. Any install tips, how easy/hard, special tools needed? Looks pretty straight forward but I’m curious on your experience.
Remove everything that is securing the stock exhaust in place. If you didn’t get a servo eliminator, keep the servo control cable/housing attached in a way that the servo can still push/pull it, so you don’t trigger a dash light. For the front right side exhaust bracket mounting bolt, you’ll need a shorter than normal (short end) of a 6mm allen wrench. You’ll also need to remove the rearset mounting bolts so you can move the rearsets out of the way to get to the rear exhaust mounting bolts. I would also suggest getting a longer 6mm allen bolt for the SBK exhaust hanger mount (where it mounts to the engine case) so it has enough threads for the supplied nylock nut, the supplied bolt is too short for that. Personal preference and peace of mind, get a tune for it to correct the fuel map as it will have lean fuel issues and the risk for engine damage

Thanks - just talked to a local shop and they cant do the tune without the power commander - all in is $1k!!!!

If you read my previous post or follow me on Instagram, you’ll note that I helped SLR Tuning to develop the tune for the V2. You can send in your ECU to get flashed or purchase a handheld programmer to do this yourself. Brentuning is working on a tune (only a mail in ECU flash) but it is not available at this time.
 
SLR Tuning handheld programmer looks like a better route to update after each modification.

I sent an email asking if the exhaust sensor is used...ie; closed loop since I ride at higher altitudes.

And also if i can turn on heated grips when the time comes. The wives-tale is the number of winter snows is the number of frosts in October which is zero so far.
 
Sounds incredible. Aren't the high dollar brands the only ones that keep the warranty?
 
Aftermarket exhaust itself would be very hard to blame as the root cause of a fault. Closed loop O2 sensors will modify fueling enough to compensate. It's the non-Ducati ECU adjustments that they will argue, and most likely win a court case on.
Remember, they have many many electronics and IT engineers to prove the programming screwed things up. Every company that makes ECU adjustment tools, warns that you use them at your own risk. You can't count on them in a court case. So it is your money vs their engineers and lawyers.

Good point, you can always swap back to stock if anything happens. Out of curiosity what kind of issues can one expect from ECU changes.
 
You can either send your ECU in to get flashed or you can buy their handheld programmer and flash yourself and have the ability to switch back to stock settings and read/clear codes

FYI/ Brent tuning is still working on their mail in ECU capabilities, they told me it’s not ready yet for the V2.

if you buy the SLR tuner you’ll need to flash yourself via pc and connect to your V2.

it’s all based on your comfort/skill level-my mechanics are .... so I bought the commander 5 and getting the V2 on the dyno

I will share the results here once it’s done.
 
I can’t say enough good things about the ECU map/tune from SLR Tuning. The fuel map is adjusted for my SBK exhaust and high flow air filter. My bike now pulls from low rpm’s and midrange power has increased a lot as well.
The flat spot in the torque curve is fixed and the rev limiter in all 6 gears has been raised. The quickshifter timing has been altered so it shifts quicker and smoother.052EEFD3-F5DF-4E92-A0AD-9F1E5C7C397E.jpeg

They have told me from SBK that it will take 10 days to arrive due to the COVID situation.

I have paid € 450 for the exhaust and € 150 for the shipping, when it arrives I will continue to post the news in the forum.

One questión, Is it necessary to change the Map if you only change the exhaust?
