The tricolore looks a lot better

For the "R", I think they should have gone with a corse SE paint job like on the 1198 or a paint job similar to the pani RS personally.
 
The 'R' Version needs:

Titanium rear suspension rod that will not fail;
An ability to tweak the ECU like a Walbro unit;
Rear 'R' worthy rear-sets - (DP rearsets at least!!!);
Race Air filter assembly with screens (MWR is the best!!!);
and real HP numbers - not just state 201 hp and close your eyes at the dyno.

Who cares about titanium rods? The paint scheme is old now. Different wheels for an 'R'.

I'm glad I have a Tri-colore.

Oh man if it was in corse colors I would be drooling all over it :p I loved the 1198 R Corse!

Yeah that looks just like the first pics of DP Race seat,the one I wanted:mad: Had to sell the supplied race seat after taking delivery of bike as it was too tall for me. If i"d got this first,there would be no problem. I agree with you too Hamish,wheels look way better without red stripe. I"m gonna delete mine as well. Take it easy.
 
Ti rods for homologation, I assume. Ditto crank and flywheel assembly. New exhaust. Market based price tag. What's not to like?

If you don't like it, don't buy it. I, personally, think the current tricolore scheme is ugly like a man's ass.....so I didn't buy one. Different strokes, 'n all.
 
I think the main reason a lot of people were disappointed was that the R wasn't as different as the previous generation Rs'. But then the 1199 base and S are top class anyways, there's only so much Ducati could do. And then we have the extra 10-15k to spend anywhere we want :)
 
haha but if you put in the 10-15k you have a Monica Bellucci right there, and then you don't need any other girl, nevermind two :)

I was actually hoping for the gas charged forks, but I can get those anyways. Now just to make a custom exhaust - that's gonna take some time.

+1. I have to agree .. however I do have thing for the Tricolores.
 
Buying the Tri now that the R is out is pretty much pointless, the R is the panigale to have period. Looks like I have some enhances to make on my S model to keep up :)
