Took a while but my 1199 with Termi slip ons is tuned.

Tuneboy software was used for tuning, and the tuning was done by Doug Lofgren. The software loads a "base" map which is supposed to be the stock map and then has a trim table where the "base" map can be tuned. The blue line represents the base map. Based on how the bike performed on the base map compared to other stock runs of the 1199 on this dyno, my bike on the base map would appear to be a particularly weak example of what has been on this dyno, as mid 170s to 180 rwhp would be more typical. It is possible that the base map which is based off an Australian 1199 is simply different than the U.S. stock map.

Although these results can not be definitively compared with previous dyno charts I've posted (the 1199 used for those charts was totaled and this is a different bike) I think it is safe to conclude that tuning beyond the factory maps for the Termi slip ons can yield some real performance gains. The previous bike made roughly 180 rwhp on Doug's dyno while this bike after tuning fell just short of 190 rwhp.

nice results. if you can recall, was getting the slip-on and termi upmap enough to notice a significant difference over stock? i'm well aware the sound isn't much better other then a little deeper, but performance wise is it worth the investment. i'm trying to justify dropping 4k+ for the akras but at the end of the day its just way too much money. termis aren't cheap either, but we're limited to options here.

Options are growing

Termis..Zard..Akra.. Comp Werkes and of course the "amazing superb stunning" Austin Racing ;)

IMO i think the only worthy ones of being on an 1199 are the termi and akra. granted i know there's a ton of r&d because of our unique setup, but i'm still surprised the mainstream manufacturers (leo, two brothers, devil, even YOSHI!!) won't put in the time. i like options, especially ones for less than 4k

and yes i like phil's mod as well

I can't say from personal experience what the difference is as I had the dealer install the slip ons and up map prior to delivery.

I have seen several dyno charts (some of the charts and results have been posted to this forum) from 1199s with the stock mufflers and the slip ons done on the same dyno and the net difference appears to be about a 6 hp gain from the slip ons with the factory up map. Although my bike was tuned on a different dyno, than the dyno that these results came from, the two dynos were setup by the same tuner and the dynoes are of the same make, type and software revision. My original bike in the same state of tune produced nearly identical results (less than 1 hp difference) on both dynos. Against these results my currrent bike is another roughly 8 hp on top. This implies custom tuning beyond the factory up map for the Termi is worth something like 8 hp.

Based on how much improvement could be made over the latest factory up map for the Termi slip ons, I suspect there is significant room for improvement of the base map with the base cans. This makes sense when you consider the base map for the stock cans has to meet emissions, while the Termi slip on and Termi full exhaust maps do not have to meet emissions. If this is true, this is probably the most economic way to get increased performance out of a Panigale.
