Please help!

My 2013 1199R has been shutting off while I'm riding. I have read several threads about this issue, but other than suggestions I haven't come across any solutions.

If you know how this issue can be resolved please advise! Thank you.

The dealer has taken the bike apart to figure out what the issue is.
I know other Panigale owners have had the same issue. What would be helpful is knowing what the cause and fix were. Makes sense?

The key would be to figure out whether it is an electrical or fuel problem.

What are the symptoms as it is shutting down, dash going dark etc?

Does it start right up?

The bike shuts off while riding and the dash goes dark. It starts right back up again. I have replaced the battery twice.

Its something in the wiring harness or one of the ...... connectors is bad. The factory harness's are built very poorly in China so we started making our own harness's and using better connectors a long time ago so all these electrical problems went away not to mention removed half the crap in the harness's that's not needed.

Wow Mick, that's awesome I'm still running the stock harness with a bunch of wires removed for things I didn't need. Didn't get around to doing a new hand built harness yet like you have. It would be great is you could post some pics of what you built and the different connectors that you used so we could get some ideas.

Problem Solved? Maybe

After $1,000 in labor, I'm told the issue has been resolved.

Here is the resolution from the Ducati Sevice: Tech did valve adjustment and found wires pinched between tank and frame and also replaced spark plugs.

Glad the issue was resolved for you. Hopefully it doesn't come back. Just curious, how many miles were in the bike and when was it shutting down? Mine does it too, it but it's usually when I'm slowing to a stop and I take it out of gear.

Just over 5k miles

My issue was the same. It shut off when slowing down or when changing gears.
You should ask your Ducati service guy call my dealer (EuroCycles of Tampa Bay) and ask to speak to the mechanics Richie or Robin who worked on my bike.

Assuming you don't have other electrical or mechanical issues, this stalling issue can be attributed to the lean factory engine tune. On my 1299, I installed a new fuelling map using Tuneboy and the stalling and rough running disappeared. Tuneboy support is inconsistent but there are other software tuners or hardware solutions such as PowerCommander out there you can use.

I am having a similar issue. My engine light comes on from time to time and when it does, I can feel the ECU trying to all more or less fuel. Since the bike sort of sounds like coughing up in low RPMs.

And when the engine light is on, and you pull the clutch in to downshift, it will shut off on me. But sometimes minutes later, the engine light will go away and everything will be fine.
