If his dealer is the same as mine. I wouldnt doubt or worry about this at all. This dealer is responsible for many successful ama and wsbk's with their mods especially to engines, suspension and exhausts.

B9009b we on the same page....They call me flip where u go....I'm familiar wit everybody on here that steps foot in the dealer....once u get ur bike...lets ride

Def will dude. I think i passed u one day. U ride a black 1199s in philly by 69th?

nah.....all red everything.....i know who the guy on the black one is tho lol.....he is on here too

Well ..... I pass him all the time leaving the va heading back to the burbs.

You will have to wait till they get a 1299 in to do the tech stuff. They can't do it witout the bike. I'd say Mar/April ish for it.

So this kit is for 1299's...ahh ha...I was under the impression it was for 1199's to bump up to a 1299 displacement...NEVERMIND

I think they need a 1299 in to see how the software looks, in order to tune the 1199 with the new displacement - that's the hold up.

From what I heard, the 1299 cases and liners are all new.

So this kit, is going to require ones 1199 cases to be bored and new liners too. I can't see this kit being cheap at all. IMHO

But then the Panigale is not a cheap bike either.

That's for sure, haha. What I was getting at, was that it seems like it will be more cost effective to sell ones 1199 and buy a 1299 instead.

My 1199S is a great bike, but the 1299 seems like the bike that 1199 should have been to begin with.

IMHO

I doubt it, but then it depends on what you want. If you want all the new electronics too it would be cheaper to trade in/sell and get a 1299.
If you just want to take your engine up to 1299 I think the kit will be the cheaper option.

Is this a thread of got to have it just to have it thread ? Reminds of people lining up to get the latest I phone

I have to agree. I'll be the first to say to each their own. If you have the money, spend it however you want. That being said:

About 5 years ago I did a very unofficial stroll down memory lane regarding purchases just like this scenario and came up with about $100,000 in frivolous motorcycle/accessory purchases. I swore to never do it again and have stuck to it.

I will always be at heart someone who values the latest and greatest, I've just become smarter at not giving in to the impulse purchase. It invariably has led to regret and disappointment somewhere down the line i.e when the next best thing comes out ala 1399... it simply goes on and on...

That could be said about every toy I own - from GoPros to Grummans lol
