Hi All,
I was talking to a dealer on Saturday and mentioned that I have to sell my bike as I am emigrating to CA. He suggested that I wait to sell it until May as the 1299 is not EU4 compliant and this is the last year that people will be able to get a new one unless there is unsold stock somewhere. However, they have ordered 6 and are only getting 2 from Ducati due to the lack of supply so I imagine there won't be that many available.
Anyone else heard this?

Cheers,
Ben

supposedly this is what they had to do to the 959 to make it EU4 compliant :

so the story the dealer is telling you seems plausible to me.

Weird, considering this is their second record setting year for sales in a row.

If they can make the "17" Superleggera comply with euro 4 then it should be nothing more then the marketing department decision to keep producing the 1299!

Think about it... Why on earth would Ducati spend all that money for engineering, tooling and testing if they didn't have plans for at least a couple more years of 1299 production? ;)

My local dealer still has 16's available. I don't know if they even ordered any 17's.

There is a glut of "16" superbikes in the US of all makes right now. IMO - It's not that they are not selling more bikes it is just there are so many great choices to chose from.

Not sure about Ducati but BMW is forcing its dealers to liquidate old stock before they ship out the new "17's" Many of their new or improved models won't show up till after the start of the 3rd quarter..:(

A couple of Texas dealers are already showing 2017 1299 and Panigale R bikes in their inventory.
