I was riding in 40km suddenly front wheel got locked and has a massive accident. No abs lights or anything. I had this happed two times with my bike. What is causing this to happen ?
I am terrified to ride the bike now.

maldives...really...

what is history of bike..there must have been some human intervention prior to failure...once you picked bike back up; front tire would spin freely or no?

Need more info, pictures....

Yes front tire spins fine when picked the bike back up. When it happened for the first time I was going really fast and the front of the bike came up with a gearshift but when the front of the bike hit the ground front wheel was locked and the same thing happened like the second time. I contacted many people and some said that it has to do with abs system, they said that abs hits itsef on 1299 but I doubt it cox abs prevents break locking . No abs codes found. I rebuilt the bike two times and now I am afried ride it.

i agree with @motomat you should be able to detect that pretty easily and feel it i would think as well...how mechanically inclined are you Jakko? i dont think ducati has much presence in Maldives...and when my wife was there recently, she said there was only like 50mi of paved roads? i would think the 1299 not a good bike for that part of world...

A few things to check: does it have an aftermarket brake lever? If so, the push rod for the master cylinder most likely is too long or the lever connected to the push rod is too thick/long (causing the same and/or similar effects). It puts a constant pressure on the master cylinder causing the wheel to lock. It has happened to me before (wrong knock off from China). The other thing that’s happened to me is one or both front rotors may be warped. Normal riding it seems to be fine. Hard riding (track day speed) that warping causes back pressure and will lock the front wheel. I now have full floating rotors on all my bikes.

50 mi is generous haha. The main islands are small to begin with. Not sure why you’d ever what a sport bike there…
