I'm due to replace my front pads now I'm approaching 4k miles on my 1299s.

Considering whether to stay OEM as happy with performance and life of these but wondering if there is a good aftermarket upgrade available?
Out and out braking performance is priority but they have to last more than a few hundred miles/track days etc.

Any suggestions? Needs to be available in the UK/Eu!

Considering Brembo Z04 or SC pads or EBC GPFax? Fancy the Z04 but they are more expensive and recommend dot4 fluid etc

I hear great things about the Z04 pads but have not run them. I'm currently on Xrac pads and feel they are a big improvement over stock - stronger initial "bite" and better friction through the range. Good modulation too.

i thought you said street track the gpfa and zo4 arent really street / track

nothing against the zo4 or the gpfa but i like the following street /track pads no particular order
vesrah sintard jl pads i really like
ebc epfa pads
a little less track and more street

ebc hh pads

Exactly. The GPFAX pads are an awesome race pad, but I would not use them on the street. (Have them on my race bike). They take some heat and offer a TON of initial bite (Not good for stopping at first but when they do engage, the grab a lot). The EPFA pads are a much better choice for 50% street/50% track. They won't last as long as the GPFAX pads on the track, but they'll feel a ton better on the street. If you're only going to occasionally hit the track, regular HH Sintered pads are an even better choice.

I got the same set from the same place and the same deal. I run them everywhere, track and street, no issues.

Not sure how many sets of pads you've changed on the Panigale, but note how the old pads come out. Look at the new pads and you'll see there is a specific orientation for them. One side has a slightly smaller contact patch than the other.

How did you find the GPFAX? I'm giving SBS a whirl at the minute as I loved the SBS Dual Carbon on track.

Nearly fell over when dealer told me the oem pads were £98 per caliper!

Some pics of the SBS and worn out OEM here

Drop me a PM as i have brand new Z04 for £190 if interested.
Collection possible from East London.

I've run EBC, stock pads and Vesrah on the street and at the track. The difference between all three is so friggin minimal when compared to pads for cars. Even with stock brakes at the end of a session I can lift the rear at any time from any speed. Granted, I'm not demolishing track records, but I do run in the fast group and have yet to ever have an 'oh ....' moment on the brakes that wasn't caused by me doing something lame.

Other than some very minor differences in feel and pressure, the right psi in the front tire and a thorough bleed make more of a difference in braking than pads.

Z04 are amazing..
Just tried GPFAX for $120 for the pair and I was impressed.

GPFAX bang for buck
Z04 for perfection

I've been using Galfer G1300; they're grabbier but not that much more than the G1375 which has been my go-to brake pad for years. No problems modulating them at all.

Need to decide on 2015 Panigale R replacement brake pads.

Anyone knows anything about the Z03's?
