I won't make the first race. Tally is not my favorite and I promised the wife I would trim my race season a bit. I'll see you at Roebling. As for the engine, Ben Fox said unless you use Ti rods, he cannot remove much weight from the crank. So, we are going to inspect, magnet flux whatever, Polish and balance. I will have a lot of weight removed from the fly wheel. We will see for sure. I haven't made up my mind about pump vs race fuel. If I do get this full system and use my tune with wide band 02, I won't have to get the bike mapped nor run duel maps. The my tune module will make all the changes for me. I may just got T4. I'm going to call VP next week and ask their opinion. Are you running race fuel? If so, what was the difference in HP vs pump?

I have always ran race fuel in everything. The R6 and RSV4 have map switches with maps built for U4.4 and MR12.

Funny enough, so does The Grom (seriously). :D

You will see a good difference with a good dyno tune and pump fuel. As in 10-15hp depending on the quality of the tune and type of fuel. I don't trust any of those auto-tune things. Livengood does all my tuning, and he is the best.

@Chaotic, do you have a dragway close by where you live?
i started going to the 1/8 mile and it made a huge difference with my launches. as in from 5th to 1st before T1 ...

@Leon, planning on getting rid of some of that excess muscle? ;) my diet goes well, despite the travel (dinners, jetlag) i dropped >10lb in fat already.

unfortunately i will not race you guys in HWT, but for some shorter / curvier tracks i might even sign up to get more track time in. (Tally/Barber)

Livengood says the same thing. He often takes his R6 to the drag strip and said it made a HUGE difference. I only live like 5-10 miles from Bristol Motorspeedway and have been saying I would go do that. I just have never done it.

it's fun!!! especially when you outrun the drag squids with lowered and extended bikes :D

Did you get U.U and MR12 mapped to the 1299? What the the difference in hp? Any worries about ruining the 02 sensors?

Love the fact that there are a few guys on here with some deep pockets... Seeing and reading about the builds is always good! Keep it up boys.

Not yet, but I will.

Actually, depending on what kind of results we get with U4.4, I might just do maps for pump and U4.4 That way when I am coaching I can just use pump gas.

Everyone says you can run U4.4 on a pump gas map, and you can, but there are gains to be had from giving it a specific map.

If we can get 200hp to the wheel with these bolt-on mods and a tune for U4.4, then I won't run MR12.

Went to Cycle Pro this morning and picked up the Youtune module and back plate. RapidBike/Cycle Pro is the best. Thanks Yaman.

I've added the Sprint Filter R127sbk to my build. In the attached pics, you can see the difference between the Sprint Filter P08 (street filter) vs the Sprint Filter R127SBK (race filter). And the R127SBK has the P16 mesh in carbon fiber.

This is the Fast Frank quick release front axle. Changing the front tire from slicks to wets and back this year was a pain in the a**. Then having to safety wire the front axle bolts multiple times a weekend was a big waste of time. Now, I can remove the front wheel without touching the pinch bolts ever again.

This thing is going to be a beast Leaon... Are you doing most of the stuff yourself or is a dealer building the engine and the rest of the bike?

Good stuff

Melillimoto Ducati located in Ocala, Florida is doing/did the disassemble/assemble and engine build (head work, cam timing, gearbox work). Ben Fox is doing the crank work. I'm purchasing all the parts from either sponsors or suppliers that I have a great relationship with:

Sponsors:
RapidBike
Mupo
Pirelli
Bike Sport Development
Bellissimoto
Riding gear- Dainese/AGV and Cycle Gear(More Dainese gear).

Suppliers:
Sprint Filter
Fast Frank
FasterTwin Ducati Service
Connecticut Cycle Refinishing
Ducati Omaha - Jarel

Thanks guys. Me too. The bike should be ready in a few weeks and I'll be going to Jennings every Saturday/Sunday if the wife gives me the ok. We will get her dialed in and I have some great people backing me. So, we will do the best we can.

Update: We are about a week or so away from the build being completed. The fairings will be here this week, the engine will be finished this week and then the rest of the bike will be put together. The Mupo suspension is sitting at the dealer as well. I'm schedule for a test day at JenningsGP on March 13th. I've added some pics of the new paint job on the fairings by Sean of CCR, the engine components including the SL pistons and the Ben Fox modified crank. And some teaser shots of my new exhaust.
