I've had three full days on the bike now, and getting to know it. After the first two days, I had issues with throttle response and a nasty headshake. So my tuner did some fine-tuning of the part throttle at low rpm to get it smooth. It's buttery smooth now, amazing. The headshake I put down to a few things, OEM steering damper, but mainly front rebound and a soft rear spring. So a front rebound adjustment and bumping the rear spring from an 80N to a 95N for this past weekend did wonders. I was able to dial out compression front and rear as a result of the changes, and the bike feels stable over the bumps but agile and light.

There's still an issue at the rear; my tire wear under load is a bit rough and patchy, so it looks like a damping issue. I had softened the rear rebound but didn't get to test it as there was a serious incident on track and I packed up. I'll give this a go next time out and if the rebound doesn't fix it I'll look at testing a 90N spring (I weigh 82kg without gear, so about 90kg all up).

Other things, now that I'm pushing on a bit, the OEM shifter is absolute garbage. I tried playing with the rod length to get rid of the missed downshifts but only succeeded in causing a few missed upshifts too. So a new QS sensor is on the cards. The only other thing I'm not happy with is the gearing, it's way too tall. With the new QS sensor I shouldn't have any issues changing gearing.
Other than that, it's a great bike, agile and still stable (I'm not experiencing the reported Panigale lack of front feel). On the shorter tracks I'm riding, the power difference to the true "litrebikes" isn't really noticeable. They'll pull a few lengths on the straights, but I make it up under braking and on corner-entry. That said, this was during track days, so let's see how I go under race conditions against big bikes.
More pictures for fun.
